For the price of the Car, the conversion of the Aussie dollar to the US at the time, shipping, Customs Duty in Australia, Conversion costs I could have bought 4 Holden V8's. BUT they don't look anything like the Mustang!
I'll post the conversion photos soon, 400 man hours to convert.
Not just the steering and pedals but under bonnent you have to change the brake booster and Battery, the windscreen ( as it doesn'y comply to AUST regs) all the lights brake/ indicator, external mirrors, the window switches, seat rails, air bag sensors, remote key opening sequence. any parts you have to import. Ford won't supply wiring diagram, so you have to manually trace EVERY wire/Loom to get everything working properly. and after you finish, and have it all put back together and you end up with an error on the dsahboard ie Door Ajar you have to pull most of it apart to finf the short/switch.
Thats why people are put off importing the new ones here, A car has to be over 25 years old before you are allowed to leave it Left Hand Drive. And then its normally restricted use.

Hi, there is a german company that make the gauge faces, they have premium in stock, http://www.heiler-tachodesign.de/Ford_4 , but I need for the base model. They say the you could mail them a scan of your gauge face, and if it gets accepted they will make it, but I'm not in the mood for ripping my dash down in the middle of the season.

Thanks for the link I will have a look, I have taken photos of the Guages, but don't know how well they can replicate, sounds expensive, I was looking more for a Canadian Ford dealer that could supply straight of the self, as they must have them because Canada is Metric.

The cars are new and the Ford dealers in Australia do not have the facilities to do burn the as built info as you mentioned. Mustangs are private import to Australia, Ford Australia stopped importing around 2005. So anything after the shape change back to the more tradional ( 2007 onwards) is at your own doing. Hence the issue with complaince in Australia and the mountains of red tape to achive compliance.
Thanks for your help!

Maclin is a dealer that was going to do it for me. I had the basic guage package and wanted the premium guages. Give them a cal. I'm sure they will help out or suggest a dealer. The premium guages was about $400 CAD.

Cheers
