38 mm offset

I've got a line for a good deal on a set of "R compound" race rubber and four 16" wheels. The wheels are 16X7, the bolt pattern is correct, but the offset is 38 mm.

I want to put this set on my 98 GT. What are the pitfalls?

That size and offset would fit fine on your car. Ideally you would want to have wider wheels for competition use on that vehicle, at least 8". What size are the tires?

cheers

Thanks for the info. Tires are 225/50/16.

I have a set of Mustang OEM 16" that I use for my winter tires. I may put the competition rubber on them.

This year concentrating on lapping, which of course is not timed. Want to develop more feel for the car because next year I might put the front half of a cage in and go 'wheel to wheel'.
