3v, 4v?

ok, so being very new to the 4.6l, i was wondering, what's the difference between these engines? is it just in the heads? i am assuming it is. can i just swap the heads out of my gt for the cobra ones? or would i be better off going aftermarket? what are my options? and what could i expect to gain from it?

right off the hop, i love the torque. but, i would like it to pick up a bit better when i get on it. i have a bbk cold air, and it has been re geared apparently to 3.73's.

also, i am wondering about the throttle response. when at idle, i rev it, and it takes a little longer to come back to idle than i am used to. it kinda drops down, stays at 2000 rpm for a second then slowly comes back down. any way of changing that? or could there be a problem somewhere?

thanx for reading my extremely newbie questions, and i appreciate your patience.
