I have been talking with the wife about getting a mustang this summer. I bought a 2010 truck for work and the gas is hurting bad so I am looking at getting a mustang for spring/summer/fall/crappy weather and use the truck for crappy weather/winter time.

So my questions to all you are

1) do any of you have younger kids (7-13) and have them sit in the back seats? if so what is the room like back there for them?

2) does the GT 5.0L need premium unleaded or regular unleaded? and is it worth the extra $12,000-$15,000 over the v6?

Either model v6 premium or GT 5.0L premium I am fine with, but depends on if it is truly worth the extra cash or not.

Thank You for any inside info you all can give me.

I will be making a final decision in a few months after i re-do my mortgage and pay off my truck to free up $$$ for the mustang.

 

The rear seat is very squishy but if I were you I would take the family and go test drive one. In my opinion the GT is worth the extra cash in a heartbeat. Keep in mind the resale value will always be much better on it as well. That being said the v6 is also a very good car and performs well so if that is all that's in the budget I'm sure you will be happy. Oh and the GT will run fine on regular fuel.

 

My 12 year old hates the back seat he is going to be to big very soon to be back there.

 

Thanks Juztcuz for that. My daughter is taking after her mom and is going to be tall. not sure on my son yet if he will be short like me or tall like his mom lol.

Thanks for the reply. I am glad the GT will be fine on regular gas as that could have been a deal breaker for me. I will be taking my kids for sure if not the wife as well when i go for a test drive to see where their feet/legs are back there. I think the GT would sell better as well and would be nice to have the extra ponies under the hood when needed/wanted lol.

 

hmmm the kids wont be comfortable in the back seats.Its a tight fit.Actually the mustang back seat is only good to stow some small items.If your truck is hard on gas and its a concern,your better off buying a 4 cylinder import,instead of the V6 or V8 mustang.

 

or a 4/6 domestic tehehehe

 

the back seat is not fit for human occupation.we also have a ford focus and a 2008 ford supercrew with 4.6l.my supercrew gets better milage than my vs but then again it isn;t set up for milage,lol.

I can understand wanting a Mustang, but if the back seat space is going to be a deal breaker, I would suggest looking at an eco boost F150. Lots of power, and great fuel mileage.

 

That maybe something to look into for sure lol thanks
