I've used almost every oil out there and never had issues. Recently I have been using Mobil 1 Synthetic as I read some good articles on it but IMO they all do the same thing.

SNAKEBITE 03-22-2012 10:15 AM

^^^X2. I have used Mobil 1 Amsoil and Royal Purple over the years but I generally only put 600-1200 k's on per year and change it out every spring. I go with the old saying "you get what you pay for" but others use the cheap stuff and are seemingly happy.

Amonty 03-22-2012 10:37 AM

any idea how many liters of oil it takes ?

SNAKEBITE 03-22-2012 04:04 PM

If I remember correctly you will need around 5.5-6.0 quarts/litres. I know with mine I need 7 doh

And use 5-30 not the 5-20 I think ford would have used on yours new.

VAEM 03-22-2012 06:18 PM

I hear that's a fine choice as well but my SVT dealer uses Mobil 1 5w-50 syn so I figure it must be good enough for me

Is it true that you shouldn't use a synthetic oil in a high milage car?

SNAKEBITE 03-25-2012 04:12 AM

^^^ that is an urban myth

2000roush 03-25-2012 07:01 AM

What did you pay for the oil change or do you get it free? (Assuming Ford maintenance program)
