Pro 5.0. Tri-Ax doesn't seem to get into 3rd as well.

 

The 2-3 shift isn't as easy as they make it out to be IMO. I'd like to see how the Pro 5.0 compares. The Tri-Ax was noisey as well. I got a set of Cobra Bob's gasgets which helped.

 

Ive tried the pro 5.0 many times and I have a tri ax in my car. I would have to say I like the tri ax more.

 

we try both Pro 5.0 and the tri-ax, i think the tri-ax is a bit better .............

 

I have a Triax and it's a tad noisy for my liking.


I may try a Pro 5.0 in the spring.

 

I like my B&M Pro ripper, 3 piece handle with lots of adjustabilty and two different set of springs to adjust firmness. The 2-3 shift is efforless at the track.

 

Pro5.0 is nice a buddy has one in his car. I have the old Mac one and its good too but if i was to get a new one it would be Pro5.0

Well I put it in today, and I must say I love it! My initial impressions (no race track time yet, that'll be about another 136 days ):

1. Install was pretty basic. I found someone who put up a "how to" with pics that helped also - http://www.bullittarchive.com/3009.htm
2. I have the handle in the lowest position, shifts are smooth and crisp. Rev matching while coming down through the gears as part of "heel and toe" braking will take a little getting used to, rev a bit higher because you're coming down quicker.
3. No significant change in "cabin noise". Just a bit of a whine in third for some reason, it actually sounds good. :biggrin:
4. Is it a performance mod? You bet! Without pushing very hard (waiting for the track!) I can see that you loose significantly less RPM while changing gears (which makes sense), meaning you can bang through the gears quicker to get the one you need.
