Bet you will do a double take

Crazy as this sounds but the Boss and I are going to do the 1/4 mile dance tonight at Race City. It will be my first attempt so I hope to not embarrass myself or the Mustang. Chances are there has not been a cleaner Mustang on any track anywhere anytime. Oh well I will be happy if I keep it pointed straight and off the walls

Interesting experience I had last night. The first race I went up against my buddies 06gt (13.4) and the timer was not working correctly. On top of that I left the traction control on I will say I staged like a pro and did not red light The second and last race (Pinks style)I did turn of the traction control and what a mistake. I SPUN ALL THE WAY THROUGH FIRST GEAR As the track is closing all of Calgary turned out and there must have been 400 cars running. To end the story an 11 sec Corvette grenaded at 11:30pm and they closed the track for cleaning. I have tried it and I will say it was a decent way to spend a night, mind you it will be my last time racing as it did not thrill me. Oh well 5 hrs of cleaning and getting rid of the number 160 of the side window and windshield and all will be well again.

well at least you tried it, someone was saying the other day there's a sweet spot on the newer cars to launch with traction control on, there's just enough bog you don't spin, but not enough bog to slow you down... smokefan i think was telling me if i recall correctly? not sure if it was for gt's or shelby's though

Here you go Paul. I have a video of our pinks style race. It was my first time out as well at the track. It was pretty fun but doubt I'll do it again. Especially once the track closes here. There's no way I'm driving to edmonton or medicine hat from calgary just to race..

Here's the link to the vid of us racing. I had the automatic slushbox advantage lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdIG_z0LqDE

Here's my first race.. I was destroyed by a 5.0L notchback but still ran a 14.41 in the 1/4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsSf0w2ARDg

There was a photographer from another forum I'm on that happened to be snapping photo's and he happened to grab one of my car. Looks good! I'm waiting to see if he has one of yours as well Paul.

There was a dodge charger out that night that almost did exactly that. He came within inches of the wall on both sides of the track before spinning out finally. Scary

Hey Shannon did a great job, to bad it was not light out. To make myself feel better I think I was catching you. Rob and I stayed until 11:30 and just as he was preparing for 1 last run the blue 11.00 flat Vette blew up. I still haven't cleaned mine yet.
