The parts are so much cheaper so I think its still costs less. Companies in Canada like Steeda or WMS want $25-$50 to ship here plus taxes. I've never had to pay duty on auto parts. On some items under a couple hundred bucks they let me go with out paying tax. I believe AM ships UPS which has outrageous customs fees that you don't find out about till delivery. I've paid customs fees to UPS on some items that where almost as much as the price as the item.

UPS is correct. I beleive the customs fees and such are in the price, cause nothing appears last minute thats there policy, so thats probably half of why it also is more to ship haha. So when you go across the border you just let them know your grabbing a package, and you come back and usually you get let off without duties/taxes? I looked up duty laws and saw 6%, maybe im reading wrong, or your lucky! Unfortunetly most of my orders are around 800+, so I would probably get taxed or something. But it might be worth a try seeing as I wouldn't have to wait 8 days shipping either I could go get it like next day.

I think I paid gst and that was it at the border. So in BC u must have to pay your provincial tax as well, and ya that would almost ruin it for me as far as cost savings.

Yea thats how I feel haha, I wish there was a little bit cheaper way to get it across. Like a local that has rights to get stuff across or something!

Sales Tax: $0.00
Shipping Charges: $132.46
Discount: $0.00
Coupon Discount: ($10.00)

I just suck it up. By the time you do all the running around to try and save the 18% you may as well have stayed at home and had UPS deliver the product. What would make more sense is if we could buy these products in Canada rather than having to buy from American outlets on line. Right now I am considering a wider BBK throttle body for $309.00 USD for my 2005 4.0 from American Muscle...wonder though if it would be cheaper to order it through Lordco in West Kelowna, thus saving duties, shipping etc.

I try to buy from local speedshops when I can. I like to support the hobby and keep the grass roots guys profitable - their the guys that are really going to help me out when I need it. Sometimes though, shops like AM are just too well priced not to order through.

Taxes and SH##

I just ordered the rear bumper lettering for my 99 cobra, which are on sale for 59 buckers and by the time they get to my door I will pay just shy of 100 bucks.
If you know someone that has a post office box in the US close to the border that would be the way to go, at least then your only paying HST and no duty!!!!!!
