This last weekened was the season opener for the SCCA Pirelli World Challenge in St. Petersberg, Florida, and you had better believe that the gearheads were out in force. Teams from all over the world will descend on the sunshine state for an opportunity to compete against some of the best drivers alive, with competitors racing everything from BMWs to Toyotas, and everything in between.

There will be lots of Mustangs on hand too, including a pair of Boss 302S racers from Capaldi Racing. They released these pictures to Mustangs Daily of their two race cars getting ready for the weekend’s competition.

Piloting the Capaldi Racing Mustangs will be veteran racer Brad Adams, who is driving an updated and modified version of his bright green “Who Dat?” Boss 302S Mustang. Making his Mustang racing debut is the other Capaldi driver, Ardee Topp,who will be driving the Texas-themed Mustang.

Adams has raced with Capaldi before in the Grand Am Continental Tire Series, while Topp is brand new to the world of professional Mustang racing. But Capaldi seems to have a lot of faith in both of its drivers, and we’ll find out soon enough if the pair has the chops to get the 2013 racing season off to a strong start.
