cats

Here's a question for you people in the know. With the move to Alberta coming up, I have a question about cats. In Gods country they do not have e-tests so what are the advantages/disadvantages to taking the cats off. Will this make the car louder than it presently is with the original Flowmasters, how will this affect horsepower (increase/decrease) or any other benefits or lack of benefits to the above surgery. Thanks in advance.

You lose a liitle low end power and gain a little high end power. Its not worth it as I have tryed this more than once. Same result ever time. E-test or not, don't remove the cats its just not worth the effort.

advantage - loud as hell

disadvantage - illegal

a few of my Stang friends are/were running with off-road x-pipes (aka - no cats)...sounds glorious IMO

but at the end of the day...not worth the potential hassle from the cops.

sniffer or no sniffer...it's illegal...so everytime you see a copper...you'll be wondering if they're going to pull you over

pretty big fine if you're caught too

Just leave'em on.

If you want more power, get two high flow cats. more flow, more sound and no worries

Hey 05BOSS,

So your coming west are you, I did it 19 years ago, best move ever.

All cars now must have an out of province inspection done before it can get an Alberta Plate. No matter how old or new the car.

here's a link to what's involved

Met Ralphie numerous times, I like the guy. With only 2000 kms the car will pass no problem. Now the problem, it would seem as though I will attend college in Windsor and the program lasts 2 1/2 years. If I am placed on CPP disability we will move out in Aug 06, if I do not like school we will move out Aug 06. Otherwise it's not until May of 08 until I move back . I have a standing job offer at Southern Trucking so no matter when we move out re quitting school I have a job. Where are you located in Cowtown, work etc. Oh ya welcome aboard, I have another redneck to communicate with. I was at Currie Barracks from 83-86 and did not leave Calgary until 99, BIG MISTAKE!

Hey, I must have missed you on "Currie" back in '86 got here in October - left the service but never left Calgary.

Things are a lot bigger out here now, can't drive across the city in 20 minutes anymore but still a great place to live.

My wife and I own our own business, keeps us busy.

Hey, good luck in school,
Jobs out here are easy to find, it's trying to find a place to live in, that's hard.

I had popped on the board the other day, I found it through Lex's other site (you know how it is).

Does that mean you're staying around for a while?
