Changed Oil In The Mustang

Well I changed oil in the Mustang this weekend and was slightly surprised. Apparently my car take 5W50 and takes 8 litres of it. Made a wee bit of a mess on the floor as I was expecting 6-6.5 litres like my last several cars. I had to put about half a litre in a milk container but I got it done. On a side note the race ramps I picked up are absolutely awesome and I would highly recommend them. The mess wiped up easily off of the garage tiles I have as well so I would recommend them as well.

I wonder why they changed from 5W20?

In the shop manuals it shows the 5.0 engines take either 7.5 litres of 5w20 or 8 litres of 5w50. Might have something to do with the track package possibly? There were slight changes to the engine for 2013 as well.

Hmmmm. Did you order online, or is there a local retailer?

They are light, store nicely and have a nice gentle grade so as not to scuff any ground effects.

Mine were a Christmas present from my stepson who got them through American Muscle.
