actually it would be $39.00 for taxes so total to your door would be

Subtotal: $299.99
Shipping & Handling (Truck Freight): $265.00
Tax: $39.00
Grand Total: $603.99

Shipping to say Los Angeles California would cost roughly this.

Subtotal: $299.99
Shipping & Handling (Truck Freight): $215.00
Grand Total: $514.99

Truck freight is brutal on everyone the tax is what kills you guys.

That number to ship to L.A. looks better because it's $50 less for shipping, plus the $40 tax. $265 to ship a $300 part to Ontario is brutal alright, especially since we're a whole lot closer than L.A. It would be cheaper to drive to your shop and pick it up, do these truck freight guys haul everything one by one or what? lol

That $265 includes your duty & brokerage fees though.

That's a little better, I always sleep a little better knowing the government gets their fair share. Thanks Steve, that's a piece of the $265 puzzle that was missing. I've heard of guys that get stuff that doesn't have that paperwork done, then they get a second bill bending them over for brokerage that isn't done up front.

Might be a bit late but I am in Ottawa so about 1 hour from the Cornwall border and have a US drop box where I can get deliveries. Pay taxes and any duty crossing back but it is a great way to save stupid money US companies charge us for shipping.

Bingo. Just my opinion, but I think some US retailers intentionally charge over-inflated shipping to Canada to discourage sales, and save themselves the little extra time and effort to ship. Figure if anyone's stupid enough to pay it, then they might go to the trouble. The good ones recognize there's a market north of the border and make things a kittle easier. Having a drop box in the US is smart, I've got several friends that use one in Port Huron, and you can save a bunch.

Yea. Thanks for doing the comparison Steve. That's quite helpful.
