I don't know about anyone else but i got excited thinking i'd place my order this morning when i got email saying free shipping for 3 days. But not living close to a border crossing or having a passport leaves me having to pay shipping charges on freight items. And my cervini front facia i want is classed as freight item
so i checked price and for my 299.00 lower facia i'd have to pay 265.00 in shipping then taxes of prob 75 or so dollars. Bringing the grand total to 640.00
i can't even put my brain around that as a total lol. Not blaming them cause i was born here but sure would be nice to have a warehouse her in canada.

Sorry if my ranting pisses anybody off .

CodeRed 2011 04-08-2014 10:07 AM

I bought my GT500 axel backs last time they had free shipping. The only thing I paid was taxes and exchange.

def67 04-08-2014 11:53 AM

CodeRed 2011;
Dollar for Dollar | DaSilva Racing
DaSilva in Pickering sometimes has a dollar for dollar sale on US parts from companies that they deal with. I checked and Cervini is one of those companies. If you don't wish to wait for the sale you can always inquire what they're current price is, and also when/if they are having another of these dollar for dollar sales.
I hope this helps you out, and I feel your pain regarding prices and shipping from the US to Canada.
Cheers, shakin
p.s. - I'm sure that there are other companies out there that will order in your part for a small handling charge and ship direct to you. You just need to ask around. DaSilva is the only place that I'm aware of, but my ears and eyes are open!

LMAO. Trust me... AP knows what he's talking about Lol #GoodTimes

Steve@CJPP 04-11-2014 10:10 AM

actually it would be $39.00 for taxes so total to your door would be

Subtotal: $299.99
Shipping & Handling (Truck Freight): $265.00
Tax: $39.00
Grand Total: $603.99

Shipping to say Los Angeles California would cost roughly this.

Subtotal: $299.99
Shipping & Handling (Truck Freight): $215.00
Grand Total: $514.99

Truck freight is brutal on everyone the tax is what kills you guys.

CodeRed 2011 04-12-2014 09:40 PM

Don't worry Steve still got in and ordered my JLT pass side oil seperator .
it's all good

That number to ship to L.A. looks better because it's $50 less for shipping, plus the $40 tax. $265 to ship a $300 part to Ontario is brutal alright, especially since we're a whole lot closer than L.A. It would be cheaper to drive to your shop and pick it up, do these truck freight guys haul everything one by one or what? lol

That $265 includes your duty & brokerage fees though.

Apocalypse Pony 04-14-2014 05:03 PM

That's a little better, I always sleep a little better knowing the government gets their fair share. Thanks Steve, that's a piece of the $265 puzzle that was missing. I've heard of guys that get stuff that doesn't have that paperwork done, then they get a second bill bending them over for brokerage that isn't done up front.

Might be a bit late but I am in Ottawa so about 1 hour from the Cornwall border and have a US drop box where I can get deliveries. Pay taxes and any duty crossing back but it is a great way to save stupid money US companies charge us for shipping.

Bingo. Just my opinion, but I think some US retailers intentionally charge over-inflated shipping to Canada to discourage sales, and save themselves the little extra time and effort to ship. Figure if anyone's stupid enough to pay it, then they might go to the trouble. The good ones recognize there's a market north of the border and make things a kittle easier. Having a drop box in the US is smart, I've got several friends that use one in Port Huron, and you can save a bunch.

VAEM 05-19-2014 03:04 AM

Yea. Thanks for doing the comparison Steve. That's quite helpful.
