Dealership oil changes

Anyone had it done and if so how much $$$$. Last year in early May I spent 112.00 for syn 5W-50 at Metro Ford. I am curious to see how much of a price increase for an oil change year over year

I haven't priced out the oil yet but I don't imagine it will have changed much in price. I'm not sure in the city's but here the dealers have the cheapest oil changes and we do a full inspection and top off the washer fluid with it as well. We lose money on oil changes but hope to retain our customers and possibly sell additional service that may be needed. The big rip offs are the "fast lube" type places. Some of them charge for everything down to each fitting they grease.

I go to my dealship. My price is $45 for 5w20, but I get a preferred rate (I think regular rate is around $70) because I've been buyin' stang verts there for last 30 years.

I would not let the fast lube joints touch a valve stem on my car. Hey 1Low I like dealer paper on any service for the Snake for piece of mind

That's understandable ,you like to keep records on your rides as you don't plan to keep long term.
I plan to keep long term,so records don't bother me.Plus to the fact i change my oil at every 2500 to 3000 k's no matter how much i drive it,and that would get pretty expensive over time.

The specified Motorcraft 5W50 synthetic oil for the GT-500 and Ford GT lists at about $11 per litre, and the car takes about 6.2L, and the filter is about $8. So that puts you around $85 for parts on that car. A standard GT can use mineral based oil, and only needs 5.7L, making the oil change much cheaper.

cheers

I'll be doing my own as well, bought the filter from Ford for $8 and got 2 x 6 bottle cases of Castrol 5W20 synthetic from Costco for $40 a case.
