Frame Bent. Any ideas?

Hey everyone,

Anyone know a place that can straighten a bent frame on a lowered Mustang?

My Mustang slid into a curb as I was turning left (in my defence it was raining pretty hard and a pickup ran a red light forcing me to hammer it into the parking lot or get T-boned). Wasn't going very fast but apparently I was going fast enough to damage the right front rim - and from what the Ford dealership tells me, bent the frame a bit. Ford did a wheel alignment but the car still pulls a bit. The mechanic told me its such a slight pull he wouldn't even worry about it but I want it fixed. Its a 2001 Ford Mustang GT and it has a 1 1/2 inch drop - apparently too low to get it on Ford's frame straightener.

If anyone knows a place that can fix it please let me know. Thanks for the help.

Alex

p.s. - Its my wifes car and shes driving me CRAZY to get it fixed.

Any autobody facility that does collision work should be able to pull the frame back into spec, might not be like it was from the factory, but they should be able to get it close to spec.
Sucks when crap like this happens due to other drivers.Glad nothing more serious happenned.

Crappy. Could you not put the original springs in to get the ride height back to normal if all else fails?

Not a bad idea actually - a bit of a pain but it'll get the job done. Thanks.

i had my lowered stang done last year (went in for allignment and found front left frame was bent ) just find a reputable shop that know's what they're doing, there's no reason why they couldn't get it on the frame machine. maybe try and get them to put something like wood or another material under the car to raise it the 1.5".

Thanks Crafty,

Good idea. Guess I'll just have to keep looking around. How much did they charge for the repair if you dont mind me asking?
