Front Plate
Last Sunday, being sunny, 2C, roads dry, I decide that I need to take Roush out for a drive, it is in garage and I have never driven it.
All going good, couple smal burn outs, sideways a couple time, cruised down QEW at 148 on gps. stop at local pub for a cold one
Decide to come home, get pulled over for no front plate
Show cop registration, saying i have had car for month, first time it is driven
tell him it is gonna snow out later, so car will be put away again
showed him receipt email, for a no screw front plate bracket that is on way
Still got a 110 bux ticket
then he starts to tell me how much he knows about cars, and wants to know if car has a Ford 427 (Roush fender and truck badge) in it.
I told him yes, sir, Ford is now using Chevy big blocks to save money
IDIOT

He looked at registration, can see I just bought car
Think it is too close to end of month - quota time

Just FYI, there was a Ford performance engine back in the 60s that displaced 427 ci, that's the tie-in for the Roush model name.
And the lack of a front plate will get you almost every time. Had the same thing happen when I was driving my old 87 on the street, race tires, noisy exhaust, the officer could have given me tickets for several things, but was reasonable about it and just gave me a $90 for no front plate (this was around 1995).
cheers
