So I have been following the Cobras for sale on kijiji and one has been sitting there for some time. I have been thinking about scoring one to add to the collection as I think they are a really nice machines.. BUT... lets talk pricing.
Here is the one I have been watching with its NEW price tag.
We already know foxbodies are overpriced. $15/16/25k bone stock fox body mustangs??? Has anyone noticed these generally sit for sale forever. It takes a special collector or someone who really really wants that fox specifically to drop that kind of money on that old technology and truthfully, the car better be semi rare. Heck, a search of the CMOC Mustangs for sale brings up a thread with this very discussed price debate.
Now, when I looked at 2003 Cobras I think 20-25k is a fair spot to be in, give or take a few bucks. They are nice and of course depending on mileages, owners and shape may dictate the car sits on the higher price scale.
So, following kijiji I have been watching this one Cobra sit for $29k for some time, obviously not selling. Its been up, maybe 1.5 months, 2 months, heck maybe more. But I do know its been up for a while and from what I could fetch, since January.
Why are people so inclined to IMO rip another mustang enthusiast off? This whole inflate the price in spring seems like such a scam too me. Sure, the owner only jacked it up $1000. I guess he figures come negotiating he will get his $29,999 he originally wanted......but wait, wasn't the 29,9 already factored in with someone low balling on that price. Either way, why inflate the price? The car is worth less. It has sat longer, its older than it was in January.
Is this strictly about popping the potential buyer for more cash or are some mustang owners really out of touch & douche?
Same one with now PRE price increase
OH ALSO, further the irony. The new $1000+ pricetag also includes an additional 1,000 KM!!! It seems as the cobra gets mileage it goes up in price. LOL

well im guessing spring it around the corner and he figures that more people will start to look for cars now so why not increase the price? I used to work at car dealerships and we would have big sales and they would actually raise the prive of some cars and throw fancy stickers/ballons/streamers on them and they would sell. Or they would litterally take $7 off the price of the car yes thats right $7 and they would sell them... stuff like fools most people but not the ones that pay attention...

Well,
Considering the 04 Cobra is the better car, and the mileage...and the general thought that with spring coming the price can go up...there is the thought that perhaps he really doesn't care if he sells the car or not....

For most of us,the mustang is special, buuuuuut at the same time,it's just another over produced car, nothing special in my opinion unless the numbers are reaaaaaallllllyyyyyyy looooooooowwwwww, like a '93,'95, and '00 Cobra R 's.The Fox chassis is nice, and light, but it is so old, talking about 1978 design here.........carried over from a Fairmont.Maybe it's just me,but it's just a mustang ....But some think they have gold on this old aged platform.
