I sent a message to a person I know that was charged recently for no cat, so far what I know is it was no points. Will let you know when/if he returns my message in regards to cost

If your car requires cats, im pretty sure it 375 per side....that would be an emmission ticket, as for the exhaust being loud, tell them to go pull over some harleys with Super loud exhaust!!..jk....i think it's a $110 fine

what if u were to tell them i will go get cats back on my car and have a proff of paper that u did so by a shop will the drop the fine

StealthGT May 20, 2006 03:36 PM

i guess that all depends on how nice the cop wants to be...for small things they "usually give u 72 hrs to provide proof, for something like a licence or ownership...unless u run into the cop i did!....110 fine for "No proof of insurance" that was a fun day!

Depends on the judge. I would say NO, what if a guy got busted for no insurance than buys insurance a week later. Do you think they would be forgiving?

StealthGT May 20, 2006 03:41 PM

As long as u have plates on your car, im pretty sure when they run it, it tells them everything. and as for the insurance, you couldn't just go down the next day and buy insurance and go back to the cop and prove that you had it....it says right on the card the date the policy started!

SMOKEFAN May 20, 2006 03:43 PM

Yeah, but your repair bill would be dated for after the infraction.

I still think it depends on the cop and the location. In a big city they might no be nice about it. So many cars...but where i live, in 1 night of cruising you can see the same cop 5 times!....they'd know if u didn't get it fixed!

No cats $300+
