Going in on Friday for Headgaskets..... AGAIN

Well, my car is going back in to the shop on friday to have the heads swapped. Seems that my heads were warped, it does the same thing it was doing before..... leaks compression into the coolant. Its funny though, it doesnt drink any oil or coolant and doesnt mix anything and only leaks coolant when I get into boost. AHh well.... got some ported E7 heads with upgraded springs, 1.85/1.6 valves and they're ported nicely. Hopefully these will give me some much needed top end power. Going to install my Dynomax Ultra Flows at the same time, and run my wastegate dump into the downpipe. Should quiet things down and make some more power. I think a realistic expectation should be about 25-30rwhp. I'm hoping for a 12.5 on saturday at 110-112mph or so. I hope the weather isnt TOO hot.

ouch, you should have taken a couple thou off them before throwing them back on. Shitty deal mang.

You were trapping 108 before on bad headgaskets.... crank the boost and you're grooving.

If you were to intercool that badboy you'd be much better off. Or at least water/alky injection.

I need a small fan to mount to the bottom of my intercooler to help push some air through it. I dont think its all that effective mounted at the bottom of the rad. Aside from that, I need a proper MAF and my O2 sensors hooked up.

I think you should rig up a backyard 100% methanol injection system and ditch the intercooler alltogether. If you're running a POS IC, you may not be getting as much charge air temp drop you think, and as you well know, heat=detonation=blown HG's. you've probably seen the results for methanol on TM.com, hello 20-25 psi on pump gas... I was going to run an IC on my setup, now I will be experimenting with Meth as it seems to kick an IC's *** all over the place.

I agree with you on the injection, I just have to source all the parts. I dont think my IC is working very efficiently right now due to the placement. On cooler days I think it works but on hot days it probably gets heat soaked. I am going to build a sheetmetal plate to go under the front bumper cover similar to the ones on race cars, though I will build an air scoop to funnel air through the IC. I'm also considering a small fan to mount to the IC, but I would love to build a DIY alky/water injection setup. I havent found anything thats cheap enough, all the DIY kits still wind up costing like $300-350........... We'll see how it goes, if I can score something dirt cheap then I'll do it but right now there are other priorites that need to be addressed.
