Lets assume for a minute that the 14 5.0 has a hp bump to 475 the 500 bumps to 620 and the V6 goes up to 340hp, would this entice you to buy a new Pony. Or is it more a combination of looks and power that gets you into the show room. Not being a speed demon I tend to be drawn in by the look and the price personally.

For me I'd be all over the power and look into something new. I'm not sure the V6 and 5.0 would see gains of that much but its already pretty concrete the 500 will be pushing 600+ by 2013. My question now is when someone is going to step in (the government/insurance companies) and say enough is enough when it comes to horsepower. Mini-vans have nearly 300hp these days. But then they'll probably just revert back to the tactics of the 60's and 70's and say its has 375hp and it really has 475.

My Gt500 has a supposed 540hp , but the new 5.0 is faster than mine because the power gets to the tires much better so power is not always the answer

No new pony for me. For me it's not all about the power but a combination of power, looks and body style. Personally, I do not like the back end look of the new ponies. For me the 05 - 09 were the best looking models made. So my limer is a keeper no matter what else I may do AND I now have enough power to keep me very happy.

For me it's the whole package. For example if I owned a 2012 5.0 right now and the 2013 had a 50hp increase but nothing else it wouldn't entice me to switch. However if it was the increase as well as a new bodystyle then I would consider it. I found after driving a new 2011 for a few days that I saw all of the shortcomings in my 07 even though it has another 100 hp. The interiors and handling make all the difference.

I'll agree with that. I'll take an 05-09 any day just for the looks.

No matter what i don't think i will up grade, i like the styling of the '99 to '04. A little retro with a little modern mix....... Just have to get on the wagon of hp, and make mine faster when my money tree decides to bloom one day.

I remember the first time I saw the '99 in a magazine. It was yellow...beautiful. I ripped out the page and put in on the fridge....I love that retro styling. I think hubby and my kids (who were just little at that time) thought I was a bit nuts.

I remember thinking..... What the hell is Ford thinking..... because i was a hardcore foxbody guy. It was the '01 special edition Bullitt that won me over to the new edge.It looked so clean, and simple!
