Headgasket

On the headgaskets that I bought, there is nothing on one side and on the other side there is headgasket sealant. My question is does the side with sealant go on the block or does it go on the head?

some one should respond, just give them a little bit. on the weekend, everyone is outside, instead of inside on the PC.

I would say what ever way the gaskets line up on the block, will determine what side is up and down, left and right.

It should say on the gasket "up" or "front", but usually the sealer side faces the heads as they are usually aluminum and more prone to sealing problems. Inspect them to make sure they're going on the right way and all the coolant passeges and oil-drainback holes correspond with the holes in the block.

Thanks, thats what I assumed. So basically, now im screwed because the geniuses behind the parts counter at blank ford dealership gave me two left sided gaskets.

btw: If anyone has a new set I will buy them from you, right now, im about to explode. Ive been waiting soooooo long for this car to get going, so much of my money and time have gone into it, and now somehting like this stops it totally. I swear I will never do business with dixie ford again, they have screwed every one of my orders up, lied to me on more then one occasion, I can't belive how this place is still in busniess.

if you buy it as a gasket kit, then yes they do come in a set, however if you buy them from ford racing, they come in boxes, and they are seperate. But anyway, I bought another set and im goning to return the ford ones.
