Headlight alignment

How on Earth do you align these headlights in the 99+'s? I've tried using both screws to align the light with no luck. What part am I missing?

What screws? There's a couple of allen key bolts, one on either side at the top.

Steve, the best place to get it done perfectly is a Ford dealership bodyshop or most any body shops. I tried doing this on my 5L and it got all fucked up, same with my beater.

It shouldnt cost much anyways.

But if you want to do it yourself, I think the best way is to drive up to a wall or somethin at night and allign them that way.

Have fun

Those align the head lights, do you mean the long clips that slide out?,
I thought they just hold them in place...I dont see any allen keys???
I take my passenger one out everytime I'm at the track put it back in...seems to be fine...

Most headlights are aligned by clamping a device to the light itself then adjusting the light to spec. Some other vehicles have a level / alignment indicator build into the headlight itself. Most body shops and repair garages have alignment machines but since they cost upwards of $1000 I suspect they charge at least $50 to do the work.

Ok, I was referring to 99 - 02 (and I assume 03 & 04). You can only adjust the vertical aim without taking the car into a shop. *THATS* the hexhead bolt in the headlight unit itself, looking at light from the front.. its about an inch past the clear plastic part of the light on the top. There's also a small notch in the bracket on the car so you can access it. You've probably seen it just din't know what it was for.
