yes i do have a tarus fan,but not installed .. it was one of the options I have ... well I went and put water wetter in and rebleed the system .. there was a rather large air pocket in the system because after it burped i had to fill with about 3 litres of premix.. but still ran at idle just under 200 degrees f.. nick mentioned the clutch fan... very well could be bad ..dont know how old it is.. but really is 200f bad???

easy way to tell is take it out the highway and see if the temp stays low, if it heats up in the city its an air flow problem, which is probably the clutch in the fan. another possibility is this. Did you replace the water pump? If so did you make sure you got the reverse rotation one for the serp belt system?

i did put on a new pump and yes the reverse one was used but i didnt replace the clutch fan. I have approox 1700 km on the new set up and in the heat of last year it was also at 200 degrees... im thinkin seriously that its the pullies... ill just put on the stock water pump and see what that does..and besides 195 - 200 f isnt bad for sitting for 1/2 hour

I would check the Clutch fan for sure and maybe the rad cap???

MID LIFE CRISIS Apr 23, 2008 06:20 PM

hmm never thought of the rad cap...i really do think there still is air trapped ...what a PITA.. plus im going back to a stop pulley

Here's some information for you A9L guys....

Your A9L sends the following information...

Low Speed fan is Enabled - 220*F
High Speed fan is Enabled - 242*F
High Speed fan is Disabled - 234*F

So 200*F sounds normal for them.
Putting a 180*F Thermostat sure would wake them up.
