help snaping noise
i have a 2000 gt convertible and when you hit the brakes hard or even when turning sharp as soon as the cars wheight transfers there's a snap that can be heard even felt in the floor i've had the car checked a few times but the mechanics can't find anything anybody else have this problem and what did you do to solve it

I would check the sway bar end links since they attach to the lower control arm,and do eventually break,or check the upper strut bushings,and plates.I'm assuming they checked the tie rods,and ball joints,not that they make a snapping sound.But you never know LOL!

I'd pay close attention to the sway bar bushings as well as the end links for wear.

snapping noise
I experienced a similar noise with my 95 Mustang. I had it to several mechanics that could not figure it out. I narrowed it down and it turned out to be the upper strut mount on the drivers side. Just like snakebite suggested.

Problem found it took a while to find but here is what the problem was on a convertible there is an extra support that looks like a small k-frame just under the main k-frame, anyway the two rearward outer bolts are just a little to long and when the car twist it hits in the floor pan just near of where the fender and door seam is you can even see where the bolt was touching the floor, here is how i solved the problem i removed the 2 bolts one per side and ground off about a 1/4 inch off the end reinstalled the bolts and so far no more snapping noise, i hope this helps anyone else who might have this problem, it took me and my mechanic about a year to find this and checking and changing several bushing's in that time
