How about some rules

imo i don't think peoples names should ever be made public for all to see, if they don't want to. I have heard rumors on other forums, where potential thieves view the audio/buy sell section etc and may have used them for a "grocery list" of sorts. If your name was public at all times, it's easy to just 411 someone and find their addy, then camp out and steal some parts. May sound outlandish, but there have been way to many coincidence's on one forum i was a part of to deny this theory. I support the ignore the *** hats and mods delete the msg ASAP, and all inappropriate PM's can be brought to the attention of a mod (via PM or e-mail)

dealt with properly? We were starting to get into a good response to it FINALLY and you just come in and lock the thread. You should have let it go on for a bit IMHO.

People are bitching about CMOC not taken things seriously.
Paul Miester works at Steeda and is a great guy that is also a
TOP SPONSOR ON CMOC

Nick and I have been talking on MSN about this and it needs to be out in the open.
These forums are a business. They count on revenue contributed by sponsors and user contributions to pay the bills for their existence.
These threads, and these users are not hurting Paul, or his reputation. They are not hurting Steeda or any other site they slander for the most part. They are hurting this forum because it drives away other potential sponsors.
Is some moron talking out his *** going to prevent me, or anybody with more than a grade 2 education and a decent handle on their faculties, from recommending Paul's work? No.
Does it make the forum look bad though? YES.
If I was (and I am) a business looking to advertise my services, do you think I would be inclined to look elsewhere when topics like this come up? Yes, I would and yes I DO.
Sponsors, and businesses in general do not want their names associated with this seemingly endless runaway train of slander and misinformation.
Not to sound curt or rude, but that's factual. There are a number of sponsors here who are on this site because people like Nick and others like him, recommended it. When stuff like this goes on, do you think they feel they are getting good value for their money? When they see other sponsors painted in such a negative light, do you think it makes them want to invest their money a second time?
I know I wouldn't.
Perhaps we need more moderators, I don't know. But there needs to be a solution found.

Just to add a little clarity here after my discussion on MSN with Keith:
I am not saying that the thread about Paul should have been left open per se.
I think the discussion that was occurring, that had nothing to do with the original topic of the thread, near the end, had some value to it.
A thread of that nature should not have existed for any more than a few minutes, let alone several hours and I think we should look toward some solution to ensure that this is the case.
I think this would be beneficial for the members, the forum itself, it's owners/operators and it's sponsors.

So mister deadbeat poster would have failed in his attempt to bash a shop, as we were turning the thread into a bash on him, with some insight on how this stuff affects CMOC as a whole.
Sorry if I wasn't clear enough for you in my post!
