yes, unfortunately.. I've only had my Mustang for a few months but I know that once we get a house in a couple of years and possibly a family, I'll have to get rid of it because I won't be able to afford the payments. I can't imagine not having a car I love driving tho so I might get an older Mustang and make it a track toy that's still street drivable. If I were in your place and it was paid off, I wouldn't get rid of it unless I absolutely needed the money.

Well I'm definitely not in a rush....... But i think if someone came here with the right cash in hand, it would be gone, no questions ask.
But you are right Dave (daddy2000gt), this year did leave a bad taste in the local politics, more so this year then in the past few years, so it does play a roll in some of this in someways. That 12 second slip might be haunting, but i am quite content on how the GT works, and runs. I know it's a 12 second car,..... the driver is just a 13 second driver, and i have come to terms with that LMAO!!!
I'm just not ready to hit the track again..... for awhile anyways, especially seeing how much it cost to get a mod motor back together, even on a so called budget!!!!!

I will sit on it, and try not to think about it too much, cause the more i do think about it, the more i want to let it go, which is odd for me to feel, and think this way so strongly.

All in all it is just a car, buuuuuuut at the same token i worked my ars off to buy, and pay for it, worked my ars off to mod it, worked my ars off to mold it, and gained new scars, and cuts that lead to those memories of countless enjoyments with cruising, hagging out, and racing with friends, and many of surrounding clubs.
Plus the car owes me nothing as it has been paid off since '08.

I do think about that "What if?" or "I regret....." like most of our fathers have said to us about them letting go of "That" car that they loved.
Winter is long enough, so it i will help in keeping the thought on pause right now, and keep me from making any rushed moves.

It's hard to talk to the wify about it, cause she doesn't get it, but yet my 10 yea old daughter gets it!! Weird LOL!

I know that I go through this all of the time. I have had some great cars that have been sold. What I find is that after I sell them I don't always miss the car I sold, but I get the itch to buy another. Something else I have learned is that it's really tough to step back. After my first Stang (brand new 2000 GT) I went to a 280,000km 89 coupe with rough paint and some rust. I liked the car but it was no where near the caliber of the previous car and I was never truly happy with it.

This is a tough one 1LOW and you said it very well in your last post. I could never tell you or anyone what you should or shouldn't do when it comes to cars....only my own experience. For some the car is like family and for others it's just transportation. You have to decide where you and this car fit in that scale. You might even need to factor in your daughter's feelings because it sounds like this car has created some amazing memories for her in spending time with dad....she's a very lucky girl. You know....the 6 years until she has her licence will go by very quickly.

I love my car, and I'm pretty content to keep her...Although, if I could afford to trade it for a Grabber Blue '13 GT500, I would. But I don't see that happening for me, in the near future anyhow.
Your car to me is one amazing Mustang, and the personal effort you put into it, would make it very hard to sell it, if it were me.

LOL! I did think about this already, but the price on this big guy, no thanks, other wise i would be all over that rig like flies on poop!! Even the wify gave the OK if the payments weren't so huge!!


As for my daughter, she is very attached to this car, she gets very upset if i mention anything about getting rid of it. In a way i understand, cause when i was a kid my folks bought a brand new black Ford 1979 F100 half tone pick up. I was there when they chose it, and drove it home. That truck was part of half my life. When i turned 16 they played a cruel joke on me, and said they sold it, but come Xmas morning, i openned up a few boxes, there they were, the keys, and ownership. I could not believe it. This was the very vehicle i pretended i drove when i was kid when going outside to play after dinner, this is the truck we would go pick up fire wood in, go camping, fishing, heck, even to the dump LOL! I would draw pictures of this thing right up the my mid twenties...... and i never felt the same for another vehicle again. That was my first love. So i get where my daughter comes from. So i have to play my cards very smart, or i will sink making the wrong descision.


Chad, that is also what i think of, if i sale it, i will just end up getting another down the road, and i am back at square one. So that brings me to think i might aswell just keep what i got, cause it's 3/4's complete to where i would like it to be.
