Took delivery of my '06 in Oct 2005, backed it out of garage today to run it for a while. Has 12,300 k's.

herbz 03-25-2011 05:11 PM

14,100 or so on the 08' GT/CS. Only put on about 5000km's last summer and probably less this year.

SNAKEBITE 03-25-2011 05:22 PM

The last two posts are good re low k's for the years of ownership

Ronnie06GT 03-25-2011 05:40 PM

Yea, I only drive it on hot sunny days to the golf course and some summer evening cruising. Has made a couple of trips to Calgary and Edmonton, but that's about it. Plan to make one more Calgary trip later in May this year, to the WMS dyno.

VAEM 03-25-2011 05:56 PM

The 5.0 is 14 years old and it's got 108,000 on the ODO.

def67 03-25-2011 06:04 PM

Hmmm, I got 18000 plus in 1 year. That trip to California last year put on lots!

Red Pony 03-25-2011 06:38 PM

New car for me and I'm starting out with 14,000k. This is gonna be my daily driver in the summer so I'm expecting ~500 km per week. The 45 minute country drive to work is going to be fun!!!

Juztcuz 03-25-2011 07:43 PM

Just bought in Feb. My 2003 mach 1 has 51,121 on her. I plan on driving her abit this summer only on the best days.

I agree 100%

ChadStang 03-26-2011 09:34 AM

My car started with 30,000km. I'll probably do 2-3,000km per year I'm thinking

-PLOTNIK- 03-26-2011 12:10 PM

guess i should of look at the first post a bit closer, 04 car and i think 114 k on it

carspark 03-27-2011 09:19 AM

well u'll probably all hate me but my mustang is used all year it's still brand new and only has 2000 km's. but i have an ac cobra that i only use in the summer for obvious reason's and that only has 2,300 miles and km's but miles so around 3,600 km.

SNAKEBITE 03-27-2011 10:58 AM

^^^as long as you keep her clean. I help Kasioboy in the spring with his dd and for a all year car it's mint. I think it's an 06gt????? Maybe 05 but it's minty fresh.

If you can get away with driving it year round why not. We would hate you if you tried to drive the Cobra in the winter though. lol

Some of us do in other ways!!I myself have a family of 5,so there is no way it can be used daily if i wanted too, that is where our daily driver comes in.
Plus i don't have time to clean my GT every weekend having 3 kids like most can.So i only bring it out on nice days to fix that issue,....i take it out after hours when the rush our traffic is down due to London drivers, (i've driven in a lot of cities/towns,and none are like London, just trust me when i say that :? ),and when i do take it out,i drive it the way it is ment too, meaning it sees some good 1/4 mile duty.None of this whimpy rpm launching, and shifting,i'm talking 4000 to 4500 rpm launches, and 6200/6300 rpm shifts,if it had a built bottom end,and ported heads,it would see the 7000 rpm range where these cams will work.:?
But at the same time,i take car of it.Besides the rubber build up in the rear inner wells, most would think it's pampered LOL!
I didn't take offence to your post, just wanted to give my two cents for someone like me in my situation.
Some enjoy to drive them on a daily basis, while other rather sit,and detail days on end,and others only take it out to shows, and do some racing of their choice.
Everyone has a different view on how they use their toy.

I know that but you guys don't have cold weather there anyways.

Stang6589 03-28-2011 08:05 AM

I used drive my 1965 Stang alot during the summer I would put on 3000kms. But theses days I so busy maybe 1000-1500.

SNAKEBITE 03-28-2011 10:24 AM

^^^I am guessing that will be my range. Lots of shows to attend so the k's pile up lol. People that know me will tell you I bought it for a waxing platform 99.0% of the time and shows the other 1.0%. When I go to a show I am generally sitting no where near my car so at that it's not a "look at my car" as no one knows who the owner is. I have had to yell 100+ feet for the odd dickhead to keep the mitts off but otherwise I am sitting behind Ross's Kevins kasioboys etc car shooting the breeze. I will walk over to my car every hour or so and dust her off as black is not a kind color at shows.

I guess being a professional driver for 25+ years and millions of k's later I do not find driving all that enjoyable to be honest which is like a mechanic coming home and having to work on his or someone else's car=not fun. I am a huge believer in this "if you enjoy driving yours by all means have at it" For me not so much lol.

No matter how much you've driven you must still have fun driving your car. How can anyone not have fun with a supercharged 5.4 and 500 hp.

Stang6589 03-28-2011 01:55 PM

I finished the car 10 years ago, I got about 20,000 on her now approx.

And boy is she going to need a good cleaning. I could not take care of her as well as I would have liked this year so she is due now that I am feeling better.

My old 5.0L LX, that I bought new in July of 1987, had about 15,000 km on it when I put it away in late November that year ... can you tell that I enjoyed driving it? :D

Don't think that I will be putting that many kilometres on the new 89.

cheers
Ed N.

I am 1) so lame I take Center St up to 64th Ave and then over to the Deerfoot Mall every Wed night so I generally do not exceed 50 kmph 2) avoid the Deerfoot as I am paranoid of rockchips. Sad I know but hey lol. I have already knocked on wood as I type this but there's not one mark/blemish on my car and it's heading into its third summer=yeah!:chacha:
