ok so right now i'm running 245/45 zr17 all round, and the current rubber is falken. i'm not too happy with them and want to invest in some nitto's. i dont know too too much about tire specs, my rims i believe are 17 x 9. how wide can i go for next spring?

that looks good, I vote for 295s lol

My bad... :( the papers i was looking at were for the Mach project car, my stang only has 9" wide... 275 still sounds pretty wide for me tho :P but kinda wishin i had tens :D
|
I have 18x10's and run 275 but could easily run 295's. I still say 9 inch rims would easily handle 275's:tup
|
275 EASY! I have Eagle F1 in a 275 on my 9" saleens. MY friend has 295 on a 9" rim and its fine too....
|
275, still looks good. I wonder what 295s would look like now.
rk122075, any chance you can get a pic or have him sign up here and post it himself? |

My opinion is that the widest you should go on a 9 inch rim is a 275/40.
I have only seen 1 pic of a car with a 295 and the tire did bulge plus it threw off the speedo a fair bit. A 275 is different in diameter from a stock 245/45 by only .08% while the 295 is off something over 2% I believe. The widest you can usually go in the rear on these new edge mustang is 315/35 on a 10.5 inch rim. Here is a pic of my 04 that I sold. 275/40 on the front on a 9 inch rim. 315/35 on the rear on a 10.5 inch rim. I added a front shot so you can see how wide a 275 is on the front. |
yea i think i'm just going to stick with the 275's still way better than 245
