Originally I was thinking of just modifying the transmission to get rid of the granny shifts. But then I convinced myself I wanted a Manual. And now I don't know what I want so I am glad the car is tucked away so I don't have to think about it !!!

archer379 12-11-2006 07:04 AM

lucky you mine is siting here and since i was layed off all i do is tinker with it and think what should i do

White_Snake 12-11-2006 08:16 AM

i voted 5 speed, but then throw some 3:73's in her!

MID LIFE CRISIS 12-11-2006 11:25 AM

I vote J mod and 410s... that way your wife can still drive you home when you have had to much to drink at the meets

P.Meister 12-11-2006 11:39 PM

Another option is a custom chip or flasher. I would never get rid of the automatic.

Chip or flasher:

Improved fuel economy, more power, improved shifting points, pressure, etc

now thats a cool idea.. I should of thought of this.. now a question about the chip . can you get one with 2 or 3 programms . I guess what im sayin is .. is there a way to have 2-3 settings one for strip one for in town and maybe one for highway.. this would be the way to go if not to expensive

archer379 12-12-2006 08:07 AM

i was thinking of adding that aswell like mid life said can you get one with diffarent settings and if so whats the cost

G-ForceJunkie 12-12-2006 08:13 AM

Nothing like a 5-speed, auto's are just boring, IMO. If you don't have a lot invested in your current car, it may be cheaper to sell yours and buy a 5-speed one.

Yes, this is possible and what we do for a lot of customers.

Custom 4 program capable chip and cable is $450.00 and $25.00 for every program on top of the first two. Xcal2 Flasher is $460 with two programs and $25 for each additional

wolfpac 12-15-2006 03:54 PM

i would swap !!!

I have gone this route only with diablo instead of SCT but the man speaks the truth it was money well spent and now the car shifts hard with no tranny mods other than the chip

I would do the 5 speed swap....nothing like down gearing and have the exhaust to back you up. and go either 3:73 or 3:90.......or you can be lazy and put a chip in it LOL. j/k no but that is what I would do, Good luck mike.

So would it make sense to do the "jmod" and a chip or will you get the results with just the chip ?

With a V6, and considering you want to keep the car, do the swap. You ll get more fun out of it.

But my .02, dont spend to much on a V6.
