My project.

My Project:

Okay so today I purchased got my shocks / struts in the mail, and I ordered some Steeda sport springs so I figured id start a thread because I like to share and I thought it’d be cool to monitor my progress. I don’t have much yet, I’ve been spending all my money on fixing it the previous owner didn’t take very good care of her. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow or Monday when I get the springs.

Engine:
K&N Air Filter
Foglight to Filter Ram Intake
Flowmaster Muffler

A whole load of new front end parts
Tie rods
Ball joints
Steering rack
Just got Monroe sensa-trac shocks/struts today
Steeda Sport Springs coming

Other parts I’ve replaced
Water pump
Idler pulley
Platinum plugs
Wires
Coil
Changed to synthetic oil
Fuel sending unit/Gas filler neck
Power steering pump

I am buying brakes at the end of this month, haven’t really decided on what brand yet. I guess it depends on how much I want to spend in the end. Either powerslot, KVR, or baer eradispeed rotors and pads.

I have a few other mods I hope to finish over the winter like swap intakes with a ported 3.8l upper/lower intake and throttle body that I bought off another stang owner. As well as I’d like to swap gears for some 373’s and get a t-lok. Id also like to fix my exhaust properly and get a true dual Flowmaster system.

Other mods I’m considering for the future... Split port swap, 70mm BBK Throttle body, completely rebuilding my motor with new pistons, bigger valves, cam, and a Procharger. But that won’t be till next winter for sure.

I’ll probably install the springs and struts next weekend once I do I’ll post some pictures of my car then too.

Comments are appreciated..

Another update:

Got Powerslot rotors / Hawk HPS pads last week installed them and changed my front calipers as well. Painted them red with a Duplicolor caliper kit. Paint looks amazing apparantly it has ceramic in it and makes it dry quicker and more evenly. Rear calipers are getting changed and painted soon as well. Probally just going to go with stock replacement rotors/pads on the rears though.
Powerslot rotors

Hawk HPS pads

I'll post some pictures of my actual brakes later when my camera is working properly. It looks amazing I cant wait to install the rims I bought and show off the calipers.

Also got a Carter 88lph HD Fuel pump

Still havnt installed my springs yet though, Probally this wednesday. Ported intakes are coming friday, Also I bought some 01 gt rims those are coming as well friday.

I think the next mods coming are 3.73 gears, t-lok, aluminum driveshaft, spec stage 2 clutch and a underdrive pulley. Hopfully i'll finish off just before the beginning of the season with a complete exhaust system with shorty headers.

After i've got all of this stuff done, I'm going to start concentrating on upgrading some suspension pieces. Subframe connectors, Strut tower brace, Front / Rear sway bars.

I dont think this season i'll get around to it, but i'd like too go bushing nuts and replace all mine with polyurethane ones.

For the mods that im planning, or the things i've already done to the car??? So far i've put 2000 into it including buying it and paying taxes, etc. I have probally another 5,000 worth of stuff that im planning for it though not including wanting to have it painted. The ported intakes I bought for $100 though. Rims were another great deal, Tires are going to break me though.

Some people might say why?? Its a v6!! Well to them I say I dont care at all, It still looks like a mustang, and it'll still smoke the ricers! I've definately fallen in love with my car and if I had the money i'd put 50,000 into her. Who knows one day right??

Another update:

Today the struts went in, noticed a huge differnce, mine must have been completely shot. Springs tommorow if I have time when I get back from Steeda. Who knows I might have some other mods too when I get back

All in all everything is coming along nicely and I think im on track for everything being done by my birthday in April.

Installed my springs today. Car sits so much nicer. The front is noticeably lower. I'll post pictures tommorow, It definately handles alot nicer. I think im going to get some stiffer shocks for the rear though.

Hopfully getting a new motor from a 2000 v6. 50,000kms
If I do before I put it in the car its getting ported.

I think when I get my taxes back im going to get gears, t-lok, & aluminum driveshaft

Yesterday I got a motor and trans from LX351. Its a 2000 V6 with 50,000kms on it. Basically I am doing a split port swap because my car is a single port intake motor and the 2000 is a split port.

I got alot of custom work to get this thing into the car its not going to be hard just alotta custom stuff. I am also going to delete the EGR system to make it easier for myself in the long run. Also in order for the car to run right I have to get it tuned as well. I am getting a SCT Xcal with a custom tune from VMP Tuning. The guy from there Justin is awesome with the v6's and he is the most recommended person in the v6 community. To get the trans to work I just have to change the tailshaft housing and speedo gear to mine to make my speedo work.

I am also considering tearing into the motor and sending the intakes for porting at PSP. I have some other stuff to go onto the motor as well like a underdrive pulley, BBK 65 mm throttle body, throttle body spacer, intake spacer and a few other goodies.

The car will get dual exhaust after, maybe by the end of the season, maybe over next winter as I want to change my clutch to a spec stage 2+, and get a aluminum flywheel and its a huge bitch to drop the trans with dual exhaust. So i'll do all that stuff first then get the exhaust done. Also looking to get a aluminum driveshaft and a 8.8" rear end with 3.73s. Originally wanted to be able to do all of this, this season but I just got a new place and finances are a little tight.

I am going to post some pictures of the engine, and pictures of the car since I dropped it when I get back into Toronto. I am out of town for the weekend, was just so excited had to share with everyone.

I was going to wait till the end of the month to swap the motor but im pretty sure I developed a intake manifold leak on the drive out of town. I keep throwing a lean code and my car has to struggle for gas at some points. Oh well, now I have a reason to get off my *** and actually do the swap.
