Need help to decide

Well since I started a new job and I don't need my Beetle anymore I want to get a new Mustang GT. I've been looking at the 99-04 body style ones but I'm not finding exactly what I want. I found a black one with 52,000 for $14,900 but it's automatic.. and a silver manual transmission one. I would prefer a black or sonic blue. I plan on going either turbo or supercharged eventually but at this point I'm still undecided. I'm leaning towards turbo at this point. Any pros/cons for a turbo using manual or automatic? I was told auto was better with turbo...

I can get an easy 8-9k for my car since people at the place I used to work for are jumping all over everyone selling them. A guy put his for sale and within 10 minutes he had 8 emails back and was sold within 24 hours. Although, some of that price will be going to pay it off.

The 99-04's are a great way to go. If you plan to go turbo, definately look for a car with a forged bottom end. the 99-04's seem to have a spun bearing problem. there are usually a few in the Trader with aftermarket motors and that may be the best start if you want to go big.

automatics are more accurate when it comes to racing, but it's a lot less fun. I'm not sure how strong the auto's are either.

don't throw boost at a stock 4.6. you'll be pushing it to the limit around 400hp and you really don't know how well the car was maintained before you got it. the bearings could already be on the way out

I have a friend who has a 99 GT for sale. It's silver/titanium, leather int, 5 speed, and VERY nice and VERY low miles. He bought it at Ken Knapp in 99 with no miles and I think it's only got like 20 or 30000 KMs on it now, and has been stored indoors.

You can get a 99-02 for about 13-16ish easliy. Keep your eye on the trader, in the next month or so they will start coming out of the woodwork,
in the fall I saw a 2004 Silver GT 21k listed for $15,999

heres one in Windsor CLICK

good luck...

I saw that one in person but these assholes don't like putting prices on their cars and I don't have time to call during the day... I'm not sure if I should hang on to my Beetle for a while and pay it off, it would be an awesome beater/daily driver since it's diesel and I get like 1000-1200km off 55L. After driving my V6 downtown and back last night and watching the gas gauge plumet I'm still leaning towards this.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't want that happening again like at All Cars Sales and Henry Goos. That guy is the biggest criminal I've ever seen.
