Need some Slick size "et street" size advice with a 4.10 gear!

I am going to order the Centerline convo series 15 X 8 1/2 rims shortly and also the 15 X 4 for the fronts. I am debating a MT slick but if not a slick I am going with the MT "et street". Not the drag radial.

The Mickey Thompson site lists lots of sizes like 26, 28 and 30 tall but I do not understand what affect it has on the car and the gear. I know 26 is inches tall etc..

I have also heard of having to much tire for a car and that is why I am asking for advice as I am seeking the best tire for my application size and performance.

I have a 4.10 gear in the car and I am not adding a power adder.

What size "slick" would be the ideal match for what I have mentioned above?

What size "et street" would be the idea match for what I have mentioned above?

I know if I go to a drag radial like I have now in 17inch I would need a 275/50/15 to stay within what is ideal for speedo and gearing?

I really appreciate the info and yes I could go to the speed shop to find out but I thought I would ask here as I know a lot of you are running similar set ups.

Hoosier, GoodYear, Mickey Thompsons are they all prety much the same when running a slick?

I see that Hoosier makes a "et street" like tire also, they call it a quick time pro. Anyone using it?

I also realise about the axles and slicks/et streets, I have hardened 28 Spline Mosers that should do the trick. If not guess I will go with a 31 set up sometime.

Thanks

But were not hard core anymore bud.lol We do not have to walk 10 k's in - 30 weather at zero dark thirty in the morning. We than do not have to dig with a f ning spade a hole (trench) in the frozen tundra. Once the L trench was dug you would have to go help the machine gunners out with their trench. Once you get all that done we no longer have to look at each other and wonder what the are we standing out in a hole looking for enemies that never show up and than once they do you challenge them and the stupid forgot the pass word and you fire on him. that in turn wakes up the whole company and we are back at 100 % stand to once again. When that is over after 1 hour, we than fill in our trenches and move 5 kms down the road or around the mountian and do it all over again. I left out a ot but I think the troops here will get the hint. Probably do not believe what I wrote but will get the hint.

Hey we don't have to play war anymore Paul! So god damn it bring a jacket to the races!!!! :) And sit on a bench and drink coffee or what ever. lol Leave the shovel at home.

Yea, I will be there til 21:00 or so that day. At 5 they are having some grub for 5 dollars unitl the track opens again at 6pm.

White97 10-05-2005 06:41 PM

I should hit the track at least once this year with the Mustang.. I know there's a lot of people from Windsor going out on the 8th to St. Thomas... Anyone have a V8 or some nitrous I can borrow? Too bad with anything extra I still can't hit over 85mph without getting a chip to fix my limiter. :(

People are awake at 7:30am?
I'm trying to see if my brother will go. If he's working and wants to go we would be there for the evening one most likely.

And if anyone can burn SCT chips I'll buy a tune that gets rid of my limiter and adds some timing at the track.

London is supposed to be 13 and partly cloudy. They will still race yes. Bear is bringing 3 other people up so there will be 5 of us  Just checked the Sparta site only a 20% chance of rain and 13-14C :tup I am tempted to bring the 05 but nah :laughhard

White97 10-07-2005 07:18 PM

Brother thinks he's having some issues with his supercharger so I'm not sure if we'll be going. It's supposed to be the quiet vortech but it sounds like one off an 03/04 Cobra.
