New to forum...need help with potential new car

Hey guys, just registered the other day, a potential-mustang owner here. I'm going to look at a 94 GT manual trans with 126,000KM's. Everything looks good so far, from the pictures and info I've gotten from the seller. What's confusing me is the result of the Carfax report I ordered; everything seems to check out, shows no damage, claims or accidents, but this part seems odd:

Anyone know what "Canadian Renewal" means? Or the rest of that bit of the report, for that matter?

Someone from mustangforums just emailed me with a Carfax (instead of the AutoCheck one that i got) and the results are also clean; just wondering now what you guys think about this car's history - it currently has 126,000KM's on it, but look at the record here:

CARFAX searched more than 4 billion records from over 7,600 sources and found 10 record(s) for this 1994 FORD MUSTANG GT (1FALP42T0RF114975).

I think you would be alright..although just so you know back then if you pull the cluster fuse it disables the speedo without any harm to any of the cars performance, its the fuse to the cluster that controls all of it, so theres no RPM or any guages including gas, I knew some guys in the day that did that...but this is more of an FYI,
I'm not saying this was done
go take a look at it..bring a fridge magnet without to check for rust and check the a-posts for bends..

good luck!

By the look of the report the registration was renewed every year. Vehicle must have been parked. No renewal for 2003 and up. Is the car still registered in BC?

Thanks for the advice...I'm going to check the car on Friday. I'll bring it to one of the Ford dealers, they have some kind of 60 point inspection for about 70 bucks, think it's worthwhile?

I think thats a pretty good deal..gives you some peace of mind, check the ball hoints etc...its good to get in on a hoist...maybe they will let you stick your head under it too.

Good luck and keep us posted.

While I'm posting away, I might as well ask your advice on the car...its a 94 GT 5-speed, 126K km's, apparently no rust, no accidents, the info i've found says its clean, and from what the guy tells me, it runs and drives good. I was the second bidder on the car on eBay, my last bid was $5400 canadian - think this is a good price? The interior is clean, and the only mods are a K&N filter and box, and Flowmasters.

Car looks decent, but I don't trust ebay, the price sounds about average for a clean car. I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage, that may be why he's selling, he bought another car and rarely drives it anymore, but Mustang guys won't just sell the car, they need to think about it forever, and keep thinking "I'll drive it more this year", but never happens, I know that's how I am. Good luck, take a good look at it, usually takes me at least 45 min. looking at a car.
