Newbie hoping for some help
Hi I am new to this forum and hoping for your thoughts on a Mustang that I am thinking of purchasing and what you think the value may be. The car is a 1969 Mach 1 428 4 speed car. The car has been in storage for many years. The car is all original and I can see no sign of any rust or damage. The paint is all original and looks to have some wear. The interior is a little worn. I believe the car to be a super cobra jet and am waiting to confirm this with a Marti report. I have been involved with the 567 Chevs for ever but have no experience with Mustangs. Any help would be greatly appreciated

That's going to be really hard to pin an answer on. That car is getting more and more difficult to find. I would think that if it is running and driving and in restorable condition it should go between 15-25k This is only my opinion though. I would love to find one that I could afford, but with my budget I may just end up with a hubcap.

Pics or it never happened. Let me guess, a little old ladies husband bought it new, they drove it to church on Sundays and then out for groceries, he passed away and she didn't like driving it because it was too loud, so she parked it with 5000 original miles and bought a K-Car. You discovered it in the back corner of a barn under a tarp, with old moving boxes stacked on top, flipped the tarp back in a cloud of dust and as a beam of sunshine broke through the clouds on to the front grille you heard a choir of angels sing "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" . Sorry, I'm a cynic, pics or it never happened, welcome to the site, post up where you found this gem, I've got someone that might be interested.

Back in the late 90's , I found that exact same car in a barn with only 2500 miles on it, signed by Carroll Shelby with one of his racing helmets in the trunk, and scooped it for $5k, old lady was happy and headed for the bingo hall. I then took it to Barrett Jackson and flipped it for a cool $100k. It was an awesome week, but the batteries on my camera were dead, so I didn't get any pics.

I appreciate the response to my inquiry. I do have pictures but am not comfortable in posting at this time as the car is not mine. I have promised the owner to tell no one where the car is located and until the Marti report arrives and I can confirm what this car should be I cannot make a decision to purchase or not. I do have another question and it is regarding the aluminum plate attached to the engine. The tag reads engine 428 year 69 change level 6 year 9d and 421 t. I have checked the net and have found some info on this plate and the info states that the 421 T is a cobra jet automatic engine. The car is a 4 speed and I can find no indication it has been changed from an automatic to a standard. The car also has the oil cooler up front and I have been told it is a super cobra jet .
