OK everyone....I'm ready to do a catback system for my 2000 3.8. My muffler shop has suggested to go with the magna flows because they are not as loud as flowmasters. 2.25 " system including chrome tips. He is charging me $600.00 plus tax. Any thoughts or suggestions? Would it be better to go with 2.5" pipe?

Manufactured Suggested Retail Price is 642 USD, I think 600 CDN Installed is a good price.

I don't know yet.. since your pricing it out and looking to have it installed.. How will you like it when it's done I may be doing the same thing in the spring.. but too much talk of loss of torque and back-pressure is almost just scaring me into buying a shiny little Stainless steel Tip from Canadian Tire.. LOL.

I think I am going to pass on this system. I have heard many clips of various systems and they all sound like rice machines. Havn't heard one I like yet. A friend of mine has put a GT OEM system on his car and although it is not very loud, it sounds much better than stock and no loss of low end torque.

I know of a guy with a 99 with a stock GT exhaust system and it sounds okay, its not anywhere near what kind've sound I am looking for in my system.

I have a 94 and im putting a 2000 v6 into my car. I originally was going to go with the steeda catback (borla) but I decided against it. I was going to go with flowmaster, magnaflow, etc etc etc. In the end I still havnt decided either but I dont really like the magnaflow sound it isnt deep enough for me. Sounds to importish IMO. I've heard good things about flowtechs and aero chambers from guys off of the 3.8mustangs. Another question are you only doing a catback system or are you going to do headers, X or H?

I really didn't want to get into the expense of headers. I was thinking of going with an H because I was told that is a better way to go. I had a stock Grand Prix GTP before I sold it and bought the stang. The thing was like a jet (I do really miss that torque)and it had a nice little rumble to it with the stock system. Thats all im looking for along with the cosmetic look of having duals and if I gain a few ponies...great. I just don't want to lose any torque. The only other mod I want is to install a CAI system.
