Hey everyone! just wanted to let you know that i was at the all ford show at campbell ford in ottawa. Not impressed!! it seams that the only way that you can even think of winning at all you have to be a member of ncma,,because they were the guys doing the votting! i think if your gonna have a show, your members should not be alownd to be in it,,i meen when the judges dont even look at non members cars, and just take the # of of their own cars,,humm no good.wasent happy about the whole thing, dont get me wrong,i had a good time but ,im not to keen on loosing that way
Well im adding some new pics,if you look at my profile pics youl see why im so pissed! cause all the work that ive done,,,biuldt, not bought!.

car looks good. that type of voting reminds me of the old gtamc days where friends of friends always won. LOL

Such a crock of crap.

Air brushing on your car looks great!

If your main reason for attending a car show is to win an award, maybe you're missing the point.

cheers

that crap happens no matter what type of judging system is set up

been there many times

even last week at the MCA event in Oakville.....when the judges got to my ride, the first thing the one judge says..."I believe I don't see an MCA sticker on this car, are you an MCA member???"

I'm not an MCA member.....don't really see the need to be either.....but Judge Dred there was trying his best to sell me....and I wasn't buying squat

needless to say.....the judges grilled my car worse than a Police interrogation....they docked points because the factory paint spray in the corners of my trunk's rain trough...right behind the hinges, fades from black to bare metal....basically, look in the trunk of any 99-04 Stang and you'll see it....factory just doesn't spray enough paint in there

apparently - "to get the top award in the category" I would be expected to have that fixed:laughhard

yeah....sure.....fackin 19,000 kms on an 8 year old car with mint factory paint, and this yahoo expects me to pull the trunk-lid, tape up the entire car because the factory didn't fully coat the corners of the freakin rain trough....yeah, I'll get right on that

in response, I asked him how he liked the custom audio in the trunk.....and my tone had a serious go-fack-yourself kinda ring too it

suffice to say, I didn't get a top award....:laughhard

car looks sweet man.....post more pics....wanna see the motor

I was there last year and won first place in my division 99-04 no one knew me from Adam but at my local show where I am known didn't even place? I think sometimes we get hung up a bit on the wining etc. at a show and forget why we really show our cars cause we love the sport and love building them.

Many times the comments of the spectators are worth more than any trophy you might receive. Your car does look like a nice ride and that my friend, no one can take away from you trophy or not.
Sometimes like Forest said, shiat just happens.....

bingo......nothing more rewarding...I love it when a dude from a generation (or two) ahead of me just gawkes at my ride, giving her praise......that's what it's all about IMO......worth way more than another dust-collector

Ed, I have to disagree. If the event has a portion that is judged for a trophy of sorts, then that seems like a valid reason to attend.

Not everyone is a show and shiner.

Personally, I don't care if I win. I rather go and meet people, talk cars and have a good time. But I know at the MCOA event there were people there with the sole intention of just winning.

Same here. My response to the judges was "im not here to win anything, just to hang out and look at nice cars. I was just being honest, for me, a trophy is nice. I actually felt like i had a chance too since it wasnt a GTAMC event, the past they were always rigged.

Overall, I liked the MCOA event, but I had no intention of winning anything.

Was that the year you were handing out gift baskets to the judges? LOL

You are right, it's not always about winning. But when a show promotes trophies and such, there will be people there with the intention of winning.

Comments from the regular joes are nice. As I looked at cars I tried to make sure I told everyone that I liked their ride or that they were looking good. I appreciated the praise I got, even though it was just a little.

Car looks good, pictures are too small though :p

Yea, I hear you on the judging. Its a shame when you go there and think you will win something and the judges give it to you (not in a good way).

Maybe next time!

Nice ride though. Have you owned it since new?
