Best things to do is over inflate the tires 5 psi or so, fill the tank with some good fuel, and add stabilizer, add some new oil, along with a new oil filter, start the car for a few minutes or so to let the new oil to get threw the engine, and also to allow the stabilizer to get to the injectors. Turn stang off, thrown some bounce sheets in the interior, engine bay, and trunk to keep the little critters away.
Go do what you need to do, then when you get back home, it will be ready for you to play again. |
Huh, I always used the Arm and Hammer to keep things smelling neutral - smells pretty fresh when I unwrap the car in the spring. Will Bounce sheets really keep mice away? Do they just not like the smell? I've never heard of this little trick!

One of my employee's told me about the bounce sheet thing. He stored his holiday trailer at his uncles farm, with about 5 other people's trailers, and everybody else was putting bounce sheets throughout their trailers, and he told them they were all nuts. In the spring when he went to pick up his trailer it was full of mice, and guess what......the others had absolutely none! So yeah it works, and it may sound a little overboard, but I park the Stang on a bed of bounce sheets in the garage, and the load them up all over the tires, wheels, in the trunk, etc. I also have 3 of those plug in things in the garage that suppossedly send out a signal to keep mice away, and then I hide blocks of mouse poison in a few areas in the garage, where the dogs can't get at them. Overboard maybe, but I wont see a mouse ever!:chacha:

Yeah an I could start a reality TV show called "DublDee the Canadian Exterminator". All I need to do is grow my 80's mullit back, and find a real gay looking cowboy hat, and cowboy boots with real tricked out spurs! :lol

Did you cancel all your insurance or did you consider carrying fire and theft insurance only while the car sits in the garage. It doesn't cost too much to carry this insurance and it protects your interest if something were to happen.
