your major gauges are oil pressure, water temp gauge, the stock gauges suck azz.
I have like 7 gauges the part is where am I going to put them?

You can get 2 "maybe 3" for the pillar, 2 on the steering colum, 2 on dash "good bye clock".

I think all the holders are slip overs.

Good thread BTW thumb:

stangs4evr-roy 12-20-2006 10:21 PM

I put my oil, water, and amp gauges in under the stereo in my 92

Scones 12-20-2006 11:00 PM

I've got boost and A/F on the A-pillar (no jokes about the narrow band - a wideband is in the future), water temp and oil pressure by the radio (finding good spots for guages on the 4 eyes is hard) and fuel pressure under the hood on 3 ft braided line which gets tucked under the wiper on race day.

how did u guys get the guages to work thoo?

BIG NICK 12-20-2006 11:07 PM

If your car is stock I would recomend oil/water temp....the guages have sending units which need to be connected on the engine using various fittings..

gt98 12-20-2006 11:12 PM

can it be done on ur own?? whats the difficulty level out of 10 LMAO!

stangs4evr-roy 12-20-2006 11:19 PM

about a 2 or 2.5 out of 10

gt98 12-20-2006 11:59 PM

thanks guys  .. i just bought a vacum gauge that i can change the glow of it to 7 colors thumb: .. now i need to buy the pod for the a pillar and another guage..

i got the vacum gauge becasue i dont want the same guages as i already have on my dash..rockon:

Scones 12-21-2006 01:00 AM

if you just want it to work, it's a 1/10, if you want it to work and light up when your headlights come on, then it's a 2/10, and if you want it to look really nice, OEM nice, maybe a 4/10

whitev6 12-21-2006 04:25 AM

The guages are easy to install I went with a oil pressure , and water temp on the A pillar , voltage and clock on the dash , and I'll be doing the tach on the steering coulom in the spring , they were a bit time consuming all the bits and pieces to plumb everything so that it looked and worked right but well worth it . I bought the pillar mount from Steeda . ca but frankly it did not fit or look right . I took it out and the multi guages (ebay) out after less than a month and went with Autometer for all the guages and the complete A pillar . Not only do the work good they look right and the autometer guages are old school hot rod . A great project and I like knowing what the readings are . By the way the oil pressure guage on the dash is really just a oil pressure activated switch and it really does not show a reading. Des

just purchased a full brand new dual pod A-pillar from www.jrponline.com

its the full replacemtn so it looks orginal.. got it on layaway for $30 something
u guys should check them out got cool stuff there and for cheap. also its in ontario thumb:

2000BLKGT 12-21-2006 07:06 PM

I run fuel-pressure and boost on the pillar

hind sight being 20/20, I woulda got the pods that are part of the cluster surround piece...but my interior pices were already custom painted

had an autometer pillar pod and it fit like IMO....happier now with a speedofsound pillar pod....it's a killer piece...but I had to do the mod over again$$

gt98 12-22-2006 08:11 AM

quick question im looking to get the air and fuel gauge but it says it works with all narrow band computers.. so does that mean it will work with mine? vehicle is a 98GT..

Scones 12-22-2006 12:49 PM

yes, it will work with yours

gt98 12-22-2006 11:29 PM

I thinking of guages also but what is the benefit of having a boost guage or a airfuel guage???? Air fuel might be alittle helpful but the with the boost What does the info tell you to do different. This is 2 I.ve been thinking of. I'm basically do it for bling myself

extra gauges is pretty much just "bling" IMO

boost gauge just moves when you're into boost....but you'll know that without looking at the gauge...lol

I find the Fuel and Oil Pressure gauges do offer some good feedback, but at the end of the day....when you're ripping along, you should be keeping your eyes on the road/mirrors and not on all the gauges

BTW.....your car is done real nice....when/if you buy a pillar pod, check these guys out

gt98 12-24-2006 03:31 PM

same im just doing them for bling factors.. but hopefully by next winter i shall have it for a purpose

Just trying to say that you should have {and need too} take the time to watch the guages things can go wrong in a spit second and if you are paying attention to the guages stock or aftermarket you might just save your junk

I hear ya...and I do.....justing making the case for not paying "too much" attention to all the gauges and not enough to the road.....like starring at a boost gauge while you're mashing the pedal at 100mphthumb:

gt98 12-28-2006 03:52 PM

the LED shift light is made by www.raptorperformance.com they come with the little rubber that you can put on the light at night because its really bright but I always keep it off. I bought it from Dasilva Racing here localy.

The cluster addon replaces the whole stock piece, its made by Autometer (so is the A pillar cover)
The addon cluster piece was a perfect fit other than the round piece for the headlight switch was a bit off but if you shave it a bit it will be fine.
The A pillar arm wasnt as good of a fit but still looks fine.

I bought the interior paint spray bomb from Ford, it was a near perfect match.

stangs4evr-roy 01-01-2007 04:20 PM

the cluster set-up is nice, looks like it came that way thumb:

DTK 06-29-2007 11:53 AM

I got a full pillar gauge pod (triple) for my 04 and it actually looks and fits pretty good over the a pillar.
I got it from Speedhut on Ebay.
