Power windows on '08 s197's

As we all know the s197's have a feature that allows the window to slightly open when the doors are opend and vise versa. The question is: Can this be disabled? If so how?

Why would you want to disable it? It's my understanding, that it's there to minimize the wear and tear on the weatherstripping.

no paticular reasons just a good to know incase kinda thing.

i dont think the door will close with the window all the way up anyways...
it goes down and then tucks back up...

unless i'm mistaken
maybe i should look at mine more carefully.. lol

It does close when its up.
It would be nice to know in case one would have to drive in the winter. Would be hard on the motor if the window was froze.

so far.. its been working fine in the winter.. and i hope it keeps up that way :)

if you do find a way to deactivate it.. let me know.. maybe it would be good for the winter..

I just went through this. My battery died in the car and the window was stuck in the up position. The door opened fine (or maybe I just forced it open without realizing). But definitely would not close properly. I'm lucky I didn't bust the window.

I realize that as well with mine it opens fine however you have to slightly push the window in first before closing it.

i've noticed on my passenger door that when i close it sometimes the plastic piece by the side mirror rubs when closing.... any suggestions of what might be causing this?

just thought i'd ask since we're on the topic of windows for 05+

Me too. I have to press slightly on the top part of the window when closing. What are you doing New Years Eve. Me - a walk. Fri, Sat the misses and I are staying in Banff:biggrin:
