PSP needs help!

After the Dasilva xmas party which was packed with people and cars. I went to visit PSP and what a surprise. The shop had no cars and no engine work. Paul was there and very disappointed at the times. He told me if things don't pick up soon he will be closing the doors.
If anyone needs work done on their car please give him a call.

Welcome to the economy.

Paul doesnt seem very active in communities, online ones. Times change, generations of people turn to the internet as their main resource for information, IMO, PSP has let the boat go.

Good news is, PSP can always join any one of the sites out there promoting mustangs.

Times have changed, word of mouth is not enough.

I wish him the best of luck in the new year. :tup

I hope PSP, doesn't go under he built my Engine and its a awesome runner and a beast.
He is a very nice guy, I would recommend him to anyone for sure.

Good luck Paul lets keep the flow going. :)

85cobra 12-16-2008 10:59 AM

he seems like a nice guy, but his salemanship is not very good.

i went to his shop a couple of years ago to build my engine and he gave me the story that he was very busy and if i wanted an engine he would need to get started asap. well i ended up going to another shop and indicated that paul always uses the same story about being busy trying to show people that he is high demand and push them to make a decision.

I've dealt with Paul for many years and he is not that type of person, if he was busy he would tell it to you straight. Whoever told you that, is full of crap. There's a reason Paul won the 'Sportsman of the Year' award from MM+FF mag, I dunno if they ever handed that award out again but Paul is one helluva guy! He's always been there to help, whether you're buying something or just at the track racing. If I were still in TO I'd be doing what I could to drum up some support for the guy, we can't let one of the Original Canadian Mustang guys go out like this!!!!!

^^^^ Please don't talk about "sportsman of the year" you don't even know what that was for!

Paul does need to get with the times, but I never thought it would come to this.
He brother has been warning him for years, I guess he was right.

well that was MY experience, funny how someone knew the story before even telling it.

In the past i was very critical of Joe myself. He kinda snuffed me one time one when I spoke with him on the phone and it really pissed me off. Years later, about 5 I got a chance to sit and chat with him again and I am glad I did. It somewhat mended some things with him.

Ive only spoken to Paul once or twice in my life, once to get pricing from him. I do know the result was I went somewhere else, but he was a decent guy.

Times are really tough for people, shops are slashing prices just to stay a float and PSP, it's like they don't exist on the net which doesnt help.

As for Joe warning him... hasnt Joe moved out of TO even farther east? Economics man, Joe may just have less overheard or can service more cars at once.

I think we ALL knew that when J&P split, one of them was going to fail, its taken some time but this could be it.

The problem is guys like you who don't want to pay top dollar! So you went elsewhere and your car is still lacking the power it should have
All that work and money, even a big stuff 3 EFI and it still makes no power :chacha:

Now would be a good time for you to return to paul and have him fix that PILE :laughhard

spend lots$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and be

or spend $$ and get this :banghead:

Who built yours? How much power you got there Floater?

Paul is a great guy and I have not had a problem with him.
But that is also a personal preference.

I hope you didn't join this forum to bad mouth people and start trouble as I see you only have 3 posts. We would like you to stay so please keep it clean and don't start trouble.
Thanks.

Maybe you should go drum somewhere else?

With all that money Paul is making maybe he should start promoting himself in the mustang communities :)

But you are right, I make all my stuff. I wanted to impress you. :tup Wait, did I say how much power I put down with my motor NOT built from PSP ?

Truthfully, a shitty spokes person on the net does wonders for not helping drum up business. :tup

well it does look like you came here to start . would you like to know my numbers too? there are great engine builders everywhere. im out west and have only heard a little about paul and the great work they do. he should come onto the site where he could possibly drum up some work for himself. theres alot of guys here that would welcome him to come in and shoot the or give advice.

Stang Illusions 5.0L 12-20-2008 04:51 AM

You know I wish Paul would come to the site. He really could use the Advertisement by the sounds of it.

Sorry Flaoter, by the way things were looking you seemed like you were about to start a fire lol.

I'm not surprised..... that Paul might be having troubles.

I've dealt with Paul before - he did a major mod install for me last year... however, I watched as one of his staff installed the parts... and i saw how many corners he cut. how many "half assed" things he did.... just to save time. I spent more time the next month cleaning up the hack job. (IMO)

Paul isn't active outside of his little shop... and has no one to blame for his lack of business.

I'm not trying to be a troublemaker by any means.... tis only my opinion.

And there's nothing wrong with having an opinion at all.
Im sure everyone has a hit and miss situation with ANY business, no matter were you go.

I think a lot of performance shops are feeling the pinch... not many people willing to lay coin down the line when they're hearing about layoffs all day...

There are tons of shop with less overhead than Paul Silva that can do amazing work for a fraction of the cost.

Shop around. If you feel good about using PSP, then do it.

For the person that feels this thread should be removed.
This thread will not be altered in any way, just because Paul is not a advertiser doesn't mean we should be deleting threads.
This thread was posted due to help Paul, and when you help someone the tables just might turn and you never no he could too be a paying advertiser.

But thanks for watching over CMOC.ca and reporting threads. :)

Hey Floater,

You are full of about this. There may be no cars in there at the moment but I do know he has a lot of motors to build over the Winter. He would never have said he would be closing his doors. If he did say something to this affect it would have been done "tongue in cheek"

Hey Fearmont(rob)

This is what paul told me. I would never disrespect him. When I was there he had no engine work, maybe this is new work. I was just trying to help him like he asked.

FEARMONT 01-07-2009 08:03 PM

?

Went by PSP last night and Paul had a good laugh about this after I let him know he was thinking on closing up shop. According to Paul the month of December 08' was better then December 07'. He also has more motors to build this year which will keep him busy well in to Spring. This year he's trying his hand at rebuilding a Grand National motor for one of his closest friends but I never said that...

So rest assured he will not be closing his doors anytime soon.
