radio lights

This mat not be the place so please direct me for future questions if it isn't .

My radio buttons don't lite up at nite,or day either I assume, is this common ?

Any help would be appreciated. The car still has warranty but if I can fix it myself I would rather take that route.

Dealerships aren't always considerate of dashes when it comes to these jobs and I love how mine is like new.

I also searched the thread on disconnecting the day running lights and I can't find the solution. Mine is an 07.

Thanks, Lorne.

might be as simple as a fuse but I would take it to the dealer and make note of the dash area before and after for your protection

Sounds to me like the radio will have to be replaced. DRL can be turned off with a scanner.

If you're worried about the dealership scratching the dash, start the job for them. Remove the upper 1/2 of the console, and the 2 side panels (on either side of the radio/heater controls) before you take it in for service. It only requires 2 screws to be removed... The rest simply snaps together. If you decide to do this, let me know and I'll walk you through it with some pics. I have mine apart right now for some gauge installation. I'd say it probably is the radio itself especially if it is the shaker 500. Ford has had some issues with that head unit. Chad, I wish I could find a nice friendly dealer who would use their scanner to shut of my DRL.
