rear end swap.. from 3.31's to 4.10's

first off i'd like to thank Roddy (Chris) for all his help and swapping out the rear end of my car... i had replaced my stock 7.5 for a better 7.5 :)
the new one has 4.10 gears, T-Lok and aluminum race girdle....

i have been waiting for 1 1/2 months to get this swapped out and since it wasn't happening Roddy was nice enough to offer swapping out the rear for me.. obviously this was an offer i couldn't refuse.. :)

Swap went great and I am very happy with the outcome...
I will post pictures up later...

I had to come into work today so I haven't checked out the camera yet... hopefully the pics turned out..

Why didn't you just swap for the 8.8"?

I guess you really can't go wrong with all the goodies on the new 7.5" :tup

Waiting for pics.....

i didn't have an 8.8 that was made available to me or I would have...
this is still an upgrade to what i had...

Cool stuff!!!! :tup
Lets see how long your tires last.....:biggrin:
Pretty easy swap too eh,especially on newer cars cause nothing had time to seize up yet.
Anyways, congrats.I know you've been waiting for some time now to get that thing in.

Just graduated and my brother bought me some FFRP 4.10's for my car. Wondering what you guys think of just swapping the gears. Pretty hard job? Also buying traclok rebuild kit and bearing kit..

2k6s197 08-06-2009 08:53 PM

you'll love the 4.10's....

from what i understand, the gears are tricky and should be installed by someone with experience...

someone else with input?

1low03gt 08-08-2009 10:16 AM

Gears are tricky no matter the gear, this is where you need to follow the install instruction pretty closely, and be reeeeaaaallllly picky to be within the specs.
