Any body know what to use to remove those plastic clips holding on the hood cover.. I'm removing it because its all messed up. I know the only reason we have the hood insulation is it would smother out an engine fire.

I just pulled mine and they popped out.

Side cutters work great. You can use them to pry the clips out or just cut the heads off.

Is there any advantage to having it, or not having it? Other than the fire thing.

 

I heard that your engine would be a bit cooler without the hood insulation

 

I just pulled mine off, no problems. I still have it but no car lol

 

I have heard of people have paint issues on the hood after removal but I have never witnessed this myself. I removed them off of some of my older stangs and had no issues. On my new one I plan on leaving it on for sure.

 

Rip that garbage off ... looks way better
