So I couldn't wait and I sent an email with some question about the car

GT_George Sep 5, 2012 02:53 PM

Good luck with the hopes of your new acquistion

So he responded yesterday, and answered all my questions. He told me the car was in a small accident. Another car lost control and spun eventually hitting the front bumper.

So i replied asking for the VIN number.

I did a car Proof and it verified the claim, it was estimated at $1800 in repairs

I Have His number I will call him after work tonight

I'll keep you posted

Good luck!

He is asking $8500 cert for a 2001 GT with 100k on it. He says he is a motivated seller.

when I call him I'm gonna try to get $7000 cash for as-is and I'll pick it up this weekend.

Is that too low or should I push it and try for $6500?

Average price for a V6 of that year and km is around $5000. This sounds too good to be true!?

Ahhhh

So, I called him yesterday. Ready to negotiate, Ready to stick to my guns!

After a few questions about the car, I ask the big question...

"What's the lowest you will let her go?"

Now I have I all planed out in my head. He will say $8000 certified, and I'll say $7000, he will respond with no thats too low. then I'll counter with $7000 uncertified and i pay in cash and pick it up on Sat.

His response actually was :
"The lowest I will ever go is $7000!"

That completely caught me off guard. I was flabbergasted
"Uh.. ah.. Okay?! I can be there Sat. with $7000."

"No, Its not ready yet, I still have to get the Used car package and get it certified." He says

At this point Im jumping in the street.... AHHHHH!! 7k and he is going to cert. :chacha:

After calming down "Okay, can I come up can look at this weekend?"

So Im going to see it tomorrow. I wont be able to sleep. :tup

So I looked at the car on Saturday... It was Beautiful!!

I'm also very glad that we settled on a price before I saw her.

A friend from work, drove me there. It was about 100km drive. We get out of the car ... and it looks sweet.
I've done this quite a few times. Put the poker face on, and dont seem too interested. Ask 100 questions and never reply too positive ... "uh uh", "oh", or "okay"

But as soon as I opened the hood, and he started it up... I couldn't stop smiling :)
I also stopped asking questions ... I was sold.

My buddy took over and started asking the questions while I stood there grinning. During the test drive I couldn't stop praising the car. When we got back ... I gave him a deposit, got a receipt and shook hands.

He will get the used car package and get the safety and e-test and I will pick it up next weekend.
