Spring Rate Question
Does anybody know the spring rate (lbs/in) of the stock springs in a 2000 GT? I'm going to be lowering my car and would like to know what the stock spring rate is so I can compare it to the kits avail and give me an idea of ride quality.

The GT has linear-rate springs, up in front they are 450 pounds per inch. At the rear, they are 210 pounds per inch linear-rate springs.
All if not most aftermarket springs are progressive-rate, not linear-rate |

Thanks Meister.
Linear means the amount of pressure is the same per inch of travel throughout the spring ie 400 lbs/in vs progressive which means the further it travels/compresses the stiffer it gets 400/500 lbs/in. |
