Spring Rate Question

Does anybody know the spring rate (lbs/in) of the stock springs in a 2000 GT? I'm going to be lowering my car and would like to know what the stock spring rate is so I can compare it to the kits avail and give me an idea of ride quality.

The GT has linear-rate springs, up in front they are 450 pounds per inch. At the rear, they are 210 pounds per inch linear-rate springs.

All if not most aftermarket springs are progressive-rate, not linear-rate

And for those who don't know what exactly does that mean?

Thanks Meister.

Linear means the amount of pressure is the same per inch of travel throughout the spring ie 400 lbs/in vs progressive which means the further it travels/compresses the stiffer it gets 400/500 lbs/in.
