Strut Tower Brace Clearance

Is there a strut tower brace that will have the clearance for the Roush R2300 s/c and will not interfere with the closing of the hood ?

Thanks SDF

Well I'm not 100% sure with the Roush charger, but I do know Steeda makes one for the FRPP charger, but I'm sure you have to change the hood as well, unless you want to go through the trouble of dropping the engine mounts, to lower the engine. Like I said though, thats for the FRPP kit, but it may work with the Roush kit as well.
I would suggest to contact a few different vendors like Steeda, American Muscle, Lethal Performance, etc. They will likely know if there is something out there for your application. :D

Funny you would think Roush would have something considering they build cars too.

^^ They may have something, but I have yet to see one???

Parts guy at woodridge contacted them (roush)and was told there is not enough hood clearance for the strut towers that roush has. :?

I have heard the GT500 strut bar will fit but it's hit or miss with rubbing the insulation and some have reported it will bow the hood...
Here is a link for the gt500 brace selling on evil bay, it's buy it now for $17.99 well worth the price just to check and see... LINK

SNAKEBITE 04-24-2012 03:15 PM

just pull the insulation and maybe you will have enough clearance

superdutyfan 04-24-2012 04:01 PM

Two problems with that one it is only for up to a 2009 gt500 so I don't think it would fit on the 2011 gt. second they don't ship to canada

SNAKEBITE 04-24-2012 05:42 PM

^^well thats a pain in the arse, happy hunting and good luck

so I will ask a dumb question so don't laugh to hard. Steeda has a strut tower brace that may work but was asked if I had a power dome hood. What is a power dome hood ??

here is a link for the strut tower brace

I'm pretty sure that the stock 10-12 hood is called power dome by some people. I think it refers to the fact that it almost looks like a cowl hood and sits higher.

^^^ good call

unless you are in a hurry I would check it out every 2 days or so. Check AutoTrader as well in the used parts section
