Oh I don't know what kind of springs will help you with that. If you want to eliminate wheel hop it's all about the IRS. There's a lot of bushings you can change and a pinion brace that will help A LOT. Springs aren't really the issue there. Though they will help, they will also adversely effect your cornering ability.

The 03/04 come with a dampner/pion brace already I guess...I bought the Kenny Brown Aluminum bushings to go one next month...but I've done some reading if you can get the front to come up...it will help put more weight in the back helping with wheel hop....this is why I posted this question...

I had a best MPH of 117 last year on a mostly stock Cobra Vert...but only a best of 12.59...I cant launch the car from anything other then idle or it wheel hops...my best 60ft is 2.0...that MPH alone should be very low 12s if not 11's...

Did some searches and found a bunch of Cobras using 90/10's on the front. May want to look into that. I think though if you want to carve corners with your beast it ain't happening with 90/10's. You may carve a new grove in your tires. Good luck.

I could easily try and post a bunch of parts that would help fix the wheel hop issues or I can just be honest.

Buy some GOOD DR's and be done with. My car has ranged from 350-550rwhp and I have had the drag radials on each step of the way....i have had ZERO wheel hop.

Pickup some BFG DR's and enjoy a wheel hop free launch

Incorrect, DR's will NOT CURE WHEEL HOP!!!! The quickest way to broken axles is DR's. ET Streets are easier on axles due to sidewall flex absorbing some of the shockload. You will still need to address the problem of wheel hop if you want to keep your axles intact. We have the broken axles to prove it, and dont say "O well it is all in the way you launch" because we have 14-18 11 sec time slips on a factory clutch, you need to add some parts to "reduce" wheel hop. The only "cure" is a solid axle.. period.

My car has seen the track like 10 times at 480+ rwhp on a DR with a medium launch (1.79 60ft)....no broken parts here.

What you say is true, I will nto argue with you on this one (for once ) but the cheapest easiest quick fix I have found is DR's.

All other wheel hop reducing parts should be looked after at a later date....in my opinion.

There is no cure for Wheel Hop on an IRS. DR's only help absord the shock/energy. Do they help? yes they absorb some of the shock from a Launch through displacement over the Tire.

What I would look at first is what you are trying to address?
If you want to Race your IRS Stang in the 1/4 and eliminate wheel hop swap to a solid axle.

If you want to Bracket Race on the weekends and still go hit the Twisties!
Here is your recipe.
14mm IRS Bolts
IRS Girdle
Differential Bushings
Subframe Bushings
Control Arm Bushings
Twin Adjustable AIRBAGS (15/30psi)
HAL Adjustable Strut/Shock IRS
03-2004 4V DSS Stage 2 IRS Half-Shafts-Pair
MT ET Streets /set of Drag Wheels or DR's for Street/Mild track use (Et's far work better with IRS then Dr's... do to the walls true abilty to flex/absorb)

If you want to Launch an IRS and be competitive.. there you go. Otherwise it's just a matter of time! countdown your launch's over 3000rpm. and bring another axle to the track. It's funny because last year.... I always walked around the tool box. Always a Cobra headlight and an Extra FRPP Axle there!
Never needed! but the Cobra's were well equiped!

Remember an IRS not ideal (to say the least) for the 1/4. It was designed to vastly improve base handling over the solid axle. The IRS was orginally borrowed from the Mark VIII and added over 80lbs to the existing COBRA. Later svt managed to reduce this extra weight from the IRS and trimmed the Mustang down to its current weight!
The purpose again was to create a world class Mustang that could handle. It took Ford 35 years for this upgrade.
The purpose was not to Launch a 500rwhp 3600lb Mustang at 4000rpm and Stick/Hook! If you do! think about it and your wallet!

I know! I would never launch my Stang at 4000G! I know! not at first! you start at 2500 then 3 and progress! esp when you get a Fast F body beside you!

Save your cash too! Buying an upgraded IRS Brace for the 03/04 is useless! you already have the strongest brace avail. huge OEM Upgrade from 99 and 01. The 99 had the weakest links. axles and brace. 03/04 was the last (so far) and the strongest for a production Mustang.

Hey just a few cents worth!

Why does this forum always look like a "sales" forum?
