Oh man, so easy....as long as you got a socket kit by your side you wont have any problems. :)
You may also need a pry bar, screw drivers...you covered it basic tools :tup

Stang Illusions 5.0L 03-04-2009 12:25 PM

Should be able to do it in one day. Just stay at it :)

Crafty 03-13-2009 10:54 AM

well it's been a while but my suspension finally left milton Ont. today...:wiggle: after waiting so long, and them charging me an extra $80 due to economy:banghead: i managed to get a free white Steeda windshield decal:rolleyes: lol i'm just stoked to get the sucker in there and do some pass creek runs.

I did manage to get my wash and wax kit in yesterday tho:biggrin: time to get rid of all that crap of my car and bring it back to it's shiny state. rims dont go on till the suspension tho.. :(

I swapped the springs, shocks/struts and also did a brake rotor/pad upgrade all in one weekend in my garage by myself.
I took it to the shop for an alignment though after it was all done.

If you are mechanically inclined, patient and really like doing this kind of thing yourself then make sure you have all the tools you need at hand and have at it.

All I needed was Jack, 2 stands, sockets, combination wrenches, johnson bar, pry bar, and torque wrench, and a few bottles of beer.

Good Luck!

make sure you take pics and let us see the befor and after and pics along the way :)

Crafty 03-13-2009 01:27 PM

well a friend of mine works at a local shop with a lift so i might end up getting the sway bars done there free after hours to kinda save some PITA but the rest of it i'm just doing at the shop at the fire hall.

and yes i'll be taking pics.

i also have some strobes/LED's to put on the car when they come in as well as a Federal Siren

lowlife 03-13-2009 02:03 PM

strobs and leds ? u joining the circus ?

Crafty 03-13-2009 05:33 PM

volunteer fire department and EMT

80% of our calls are MVA's so i applied to carry my gear and basically use my personal vehicle for work. only red and white lights tho. so not fully cop like, but make for a good show display at meet's and shows

The suspension on our cars are so easy to work on,i rip mine apart at least a few times a year LOL!The only thing that will make it difficult, will be rusty nuts, and bolts.

Crafty 03-14-2009 03:10 PM

lol too funny. you just jut yours up on jacks or what?

1low03gt 03-15-2009 07:29 PM

You will need to put the stang up on jack stands for sure!
And no joke, the suspension is that easy to swap. The biggest pain is if the bolts, and nuts are seized.
With my GT i have been lucky, oiled the first 3 years in a row since new,and everything is still like new under my GT to this day minus the Krown oil guard making it dirty LOL!I do all my suspension with simple hand tools.:)
Heck, when i did the Bullitt intake swap,i was able to get the EGR tube off with ease off the exhaust manifold for the swap after 5/6 years...at the time... of being there from day one.:chacha:

Crafty 03-15-2009 10:03 PM

lol well that's good to know! :tup so stoked to get this sucker on my stang :D

lowlife 03-16-2009 10:57 AM

put on my fancy shoes yesterday so i took some pics of the stock gap... everything should be in this next week. i'm hoping by monday

1low03gt 03-21-2009 09:34 PM

The shoes look pretty sweet!:tup

Crafty 03-21-2009 09:41 PM

thank you :) i love these things. the rubber on the back could be wider tho... but for 17s they fit in there really well, and with the drop comin it should be just right :)

1low03gt 03-22-2009 10:53 AM

Well they seem to fit nicely!I don't think any of us are satisfied with the size of our back tires LOL!

Crafty 03-22-2009 11:24 AM

well I have 245's on all four.. so maybe in june or something i might look into gettin 275's and some spacers. but it's not really priority. after the suspension i think i'm going to stick to bodywork, gears, and an engine rebuild with forged internals

but thanks for the comment.:) it seems a lot of peope slam other's for 17's... and idk why..

Stang Illusions 5.0L 03-22-2009 08:48 PM

DAMN, those are nice catchy wheels :)

Crafty 03-23-2009 12:08 AM

lol thank you :)

fingers are crossed.. hoping the kit comes in tomorrow!!! :rockwoot:
