The SVT dealer up here hasn't any left on the lot. Three KRs and and #97/100 Roush 429R though, but they're a little out of my price range...well they're alot out of my price range.

When you lowered your Cobra, was that something you could manage on your own or did you have to pay a tech to do it for you? Don't think I'd risk it in Edmonton, our roads are horrid.

A good friend did the lowering for me, he has lots of experience. He took his time and was careful. The job took 2 hours in his home garage. The acual window sticker was in your range (58-62k) but believe me I did not pay close to that. :tup

I may have to check into buying out in Ontario.

Have to see if there's a way to dodge PST out there.

I think the buyout on my lease is too high though. The residual at the end of the lease is too high as well, but I never intended to keep the car in the first place.

Still waiting to hear from the dealer but it looks like I could waiting another year or two. Damn, no crying smiley.

With Challenger and Camaro having hit the market I was really hoping Ford would step up to the plate and increase base horsepower on the 2010 GT to compete. To my knowledge, it doesn't look like they've done so. When I pull up to a light I don't want some guy in a Maxima even thinking about it.

So here are my options, I'm wondering if you all would mind tossing in your opinions.

1 - Grab an '09 GT500

2 - Grab an '09 Roush Stage 3

3 - Grab a '10 Roush Stage 3

4 - Grab a '10 Camaro SS2

I love my Stang, but the price point for power on the Camaro is difficult to ignore. I think I could get into a Roush for close to the same price and from what I can gather from my Googles, the Roush handles better than the GT500.

What are your thoughts?

Well other than a race track such as Castrol Raceways were are you legally going to use all the power in the 2010 mustang, never mind a mustang with increased horsepower? I would not give up on the mustang because the new Challenger and Camaro are out with bigger power plants. The Challenger and Camaro were recreated after Ford embarrassed GM and Chrysler with the new S197 Mustang debut in the fall of 2004 and the fantastic sales fever that followed for the new mustang. The question you have to ask yourself is will GM and Chrysler be around in the next few years and will they drop the new Challenger and Camaro as part of Obama's vehicle recovery plan? I would stick with the Mustang brand it has been a proven winner for almost forty-five years. I haven't had a Maxima beat me off the line and I have a 2005 V6.

You also have to remember that the Alberta Sheriffs, Edmonton Police Service, RCMP and others will be making efforts to crack down on excessive speeding this year and the years to follow. I'd sure hate to lose my license by street racing a Challenger in Edmonton or elsewhere in the province.

If I want to tear it up I head to the back woods of Montana. There's a reason it's called Big Sky Country. I can travel from one end to the other and top to bottom and never see the police.:tup

'10 roush stage 3 caught my eye.

Well looks like I have to wait until fall or next spring. The buy out on my lease is more than the dealer would give me for the car.

I hear your point Ray..but the EPS is cracking down on speeding simply by enabling red light cameras to take radar as well and they're adding more photo-radar vans. As for the RCMP and the Sheriffs....that's what a good radar detector is for. That said, with the congestion in and around this town, it's very difficult to get any kind of speed going.

Check out Highway 9 Snakebite. It's in really good condition, has a few nice curves and good visibility. I was cruising that way a few months ago, traffic was light and no police (I'd still take a radar detector though).

I'd like to thank you all for your comments, although you didn't make the decision process any easier. Just have to wait and see what happens in the fall.

Cheers

Good things come to those that wait. I can't wait, but good things still seem to happen:laughhard
